I was wondering if anyone has this chip or can recomend a better one, And I also had a question. How hard is it to install a computer chip in my '92 RS 3.1L

It is extremely easy to install. Now I own a Fastchip 2, but alot of people say it is better to burn your own. They say that the chips (Jet, Fastchip, ADS, etc) dont do anything for our cars. I do disagree though, cause I use to have a small dead spot around 35, and now I dont. I use to run 220 city, now I dont even get above 200, So I think a chip was well worth it!

For what it costs to buy a chip, you can get the stuff to burn your own (or so I've heard) an fool around with it till you get what you want. I have the Jet Chip, and one guy told me all it does is advance the timing 3 degrees at WOT and lower my fan turn on temperature. I couldn't really tell too much of a difference, so...i dunno. I don't think it was worth the 200 I spent on it. Shoulda added a little more an got a cam.

So is the fast chip really good? Jet chips says a 15-17HP gain. But if anyone has bought a chip and has noticed a difference after the install. Please let me know because i will buy one as soon as i have found a good chip

I did notice a difference when i did get mine put in. I think Ed Wright said it was supposed to give me 15 horse.

 

I have a fastchip stage 2 and love it.... It is one of the most agressive you can get for the 2.8...

 

Where did you purchase your Fast Chip?
And how much was it?

160 bucks?! Yes, you probably CAN get eprom burning equipment for that price and come out with a far superior chip.
