Vaccum Lines
Vaccum Lines
Can anyone tell me where all the vaccum lines connect at? Somehow I got them all messed up. My car runs crapier because of it and i can't find pics or info on it anywhere.

And, the year/make/model/engine of your car is...?

Sorry to hear!
Tell ya what.
Those lines fall into place real easy.
Rebuild them with 5/16" vaccum line for windshild washers. Reconnect/reconstruct them.
Try reassembly then.
I can't say what goes where. In the shop manuals, they don't remove them, just release them & push aside. Why did yo remove them all?
I'LL BET YOU JUST HAVE CRAKED LINES. Try rebuilding and get back to us. You can do this, BUT.
When I did my swap job, I spent a WHOLE DAY REBUILDING MY VACUUM LINES. Soon as I touched one, another broke, they are so fragile. NO they are not available anymore. Wrecking yard ones are just as bad, also. Spend the time, GO SLOW & CAREFUL, you will solve it!
I now have almost 20 inches of vacuum at idle due to my perserverance of the vacuum lines. You will too!
IF you need any, go to S-10 Blazers, same thing as what you got!

There's one save here! I used to hang with a guy that had an '83 Camaro, 2.8 2bbl carb, 200C metric 3-spd trans. He had carb trouble, so I looked at it, and found out someone had rigged it before him- he was missing the secondary vacuum break module. So he took the carb off; I got him one from a junkyard. He never labeled any vacuum lines!
I picked up his Chilton's book for the 82-92 Camaros. Now, 98% of the time, I'll praise the Haynes 82-92 book over the Chiltons version. However, the Chilton's actually had a vacuum diagram, -specifically- for his year/engine/carb/trans combo! So pick up a Chiltons for $10, it should have it.

Well, I think his lines were either in the carbeurator section or emissions section. I didn't poke around to see if there were vacuum diagrams for the 85-up multiport injection engine.
