best i can see is replaced fuel pump and tank and now it will start rev upto 7000 rpm then shut off unless they keep their foot on the gas pedal so i want to say it sounds like a TPS or timing issue

Re: new to 3rd gen camaro need big help

First off are you getting a check engine light? There could be a number of things causing your problem. You could have a really bad vacuum leak so check all the vacuum lines see if any are broken or disconnected. You could also check the TPS with a digital multi meter, key on engine off it should read .54 volts with the throttle closed and the voltage should climb smoothly as you open the throttle by hand if it jumps around when the throttle isn't moving then you have a bad TPS sensor. Check the IAC valve to see if there is junk clogging the hole where it goes in and spray some carb cleaner to clean it up some if it looks dirty.

If your looking at the engine from the front of the car its on top left side of the throttle body. It has a square 4 wire connector going to it.

Why is it that people still fail to understand the better they word their questions, using proper punctuation an grammar or as close to as possible, the easier it will be to help them.

I'm not sure why you'd be revving, an assumed to be stock, 2.8L to 7000 RPM. They don't really make power beyond 5000 under load and 7000 RPM free revs aren't a very good thing for the engine.

If it's stalling, then there are things to check, like the IAC, closed throttle position, fuel pressure, timing, etc.

+1. How hard is it to form complete sentences and at least sound somewhat intellegent? When you type like a labotomy patient, you're less likley to get good help from anyone.

7K has got to be over redline, no way a TPS could cause the engine to rev that high. Do you have your foot on the gas when your starting it? or are you saying it's reving that high by itself?

ayez i wunt help wit me car but u guys bother me bout grmmer

I'm a bit of a grammar freak myself, but it's kind of annoying to see this thread turn to that. I understood what he said just fine.

He said his oven overheated to 7,000 degrees, and now he needs a new bag of french fries. Also, he said that if he plays his flute, the gas prices go up.

Everyone good now? Alright then.
