you might get 30 ponies maybe 40..dont get the pullies they are not worth the problems they create. Your alt output goes down and your water pump gets slower...

i figured much higher like 60-70
figure like 10 for the ram air
about 5 for the rebuild with the pistons
say 10 for the exhaust
about 15 for the cam
about 15 for the rockers
figure like 10 for the chip
please correct me if i am wrong

pulleys are definately not worth 15....and you cant just add horsepower like that. Its all about the combination.

also get bigger injectors if you get a bigger cam it makes sense that youll need bigger injectors.you can use underdrive pulleys just drive at around 1500 rpms. to keep your charge on the battery. i think you should get 45-60 hp out of that and maybe do some porting and polishing.

complete rebuild of engine (10HP is Stock)

crane CompuCam (10-12HP)
crane rockers(3-5HP)
slp air induction kit (1-5HP)
march pulley kit (1-3HP)
MSD ignition (0-1HP)
forged pistons(0HP)
PROM chip (1-7HP)
flowmaster exhaust (1-9HP)
and if Vic makes the headers those 2

Worst case 27HP Gain, Best case 52 so an average would be: 39.5 HP not a ponnie more if you Dyno it I would bet. Then loose so much on the way to the wheels and so on.

GET NITROUS, Shave the heads 1000th to boost compression, port the heads, port the plenum, ect..

Dont' forget too, depending on the wear of your engine, it could be drastically down on HP due to age. Say your engine's only doing 120 HP now; a normal rebuild would bring the 3.1 up to 140, and the performance parts add more onto that, so...

if you are gonna get forged pistons they will probably have to be custom built so you might as well use those to boost compression.

i've heard mixed reviews about milling 60* heads. some say it can't be done, others say the intake manifold would have to be machined as well. since you're getting the pistons anyway, you can boost compression up to around 9.5:1 with the iron heads. if you want to shell out about $600-$700 for aluminum heads you can also run higher compression.

OK I will go down the numbers with you.
1. ram air. unless you have an 8 under the hood where do you get 10 ponies?..try 3-4 at most(and high speed to get it).
2. the rebuild is...unpredictable, sometmes it does yeild more power but mostly with the small displacement maybe 3-5.
3. 10 for the exhaust huh?..try another 3-5 again unless you have an 8 do not expect 10.
4. Cam with rockers(full roller type) may get you 20-25 TOGEATHER.
5. the chip again is unpredictable but I have heard 10-15 even with the small displacement engines.
The point of this is the numbers that K&N, Flowmaster and the mass of other "power adder" companies ALWAYS publish V8 numbers. Why..simple they benefit the most and show the most gain. I have a K&N, and by no means do I feel the 15-20 ponies they advertise. I feel a difference yes but not THAT much. Before buying the "power adder" big numbers take into account that all of them use V8 numbers unless they are V6 SPECIFIC PARTS. Have you heard the tale "don't beleive everything you hear" it DEFFINATELY GOES FOR AFTERMARKET PARTS MAKERS.
