Have you found a V6 with a 5 speed? Swap the power windows & door locks in from a junkyard car... actually, I think Jason E converted his 3rd gen car from manual to power windows!

I'm assuming the 16th is your birthday? heh, mine too. :P Keep looking dude, you'll find one... And if you have to, buy an auto and then sell the tranny and use the money to buy a manual.

hmmm after personal experience..i wouldnt go that route unless TOTALLY necessary...after the cost and time of doing the swap, i would have rather driven farther to get one

nevermind..the a$$hole has come again. true its a car, and a thirdgen but its everything i fu##ing told him NOT to buy. he got a 1992 firebird which isnt bad but i dont like firebirds that much, with t tops and all power (plus) but automatic with 180,000 miles. tru it supposingly drives like it has 60,000 miles but its an automatic and the very first thing i told my dad was i want a 1992 camaro RS 5 spd with power and maybe t tops, and he said it had to be a V6. then he said he was having some trouble and asked if he could have an automatic and i said hell no, i need a stick even if its not a maro. i would have taken the saturn until i could find a camaro but the a##hole already bought the car so u guys get to tell me how to fix this thing up. i havent seen it yet but with almost 200,000 miles im sure there is going to be a lot to do. if someone wouldnt mind giving me a quick run a round of firebird stuff to do with u first buy it that would be cool. all i know are 'maros

I imagine the first the thing I should suggest would be a change of attitude. You should be driving a beat to hell Pinto running on a single cylinder. Your dad buys a you a car close to what you want and you refer to him as an a$$hole. You spoiled brat. Your dad busts his tail for you and you refer to him as an a$$hole for buying you a car. Real good. Mature too. You will probably rag the hell out of it just so that daddy will go buy you another one. Just be glad you got an f-body, and a good looking one at that. I got a '78 Malibu for my first car back in 1996, and even though it was somewhat of a beater, I took care of it and appreciated it, and thanked my dad every day for the opportunity to drive it. Maybe that's just the difference between us though, I don't know.

Now, to keep it tech, do your usual bolt ons, CAI, exhaust, maybe have the engine rebuilt and have them slap a 3.4 under with beefed up internals. A posi if it doesn't have one.

Chris

lol accually i was just gonna type something like that up, but u beat me too it. i was just pissed off that when i was 6 till last year i was promised a 92 camaro rs stick and i really didnt think it was that big of a request untill i started looking too. i can live with an auto, ill just need u guys help And dont sit there and judge me on taking car of cars. whenever i go to his lot all i do it wash/wax and clean the 'maros and firebirds on his lot. i baby our damn blazer. dont think im gonna beat the **** outa a car because im 16. anywayz, does anyone have a pic of a firebird engine bay? That would really help with the placement of the CAI, and maybe even simple "homeade" instructions, unless the instructions are the same as a 'maro

I had to buy my first car and I am better off because of it. I agree that you should be driving a one cylinder pinto if that is the kind of attitude that you have. Buying my first car (82 Firebird 2.8 for $600 very nice condition for the price) taught me a lot about money and taking care of something because I bought it.

In '98, for my high school graduation, I was given my RS with 56k miles on it. My mom was tired of having no room for anything, and offered it to me. Sure, I wanted an IROC, or at least a 5 speed V6. But I was THRILLED, because it was a great car and it was free. Never look a gift horse in the mouth...my girlfriend would KILL for a decent F body. She has nothing, because her parents won't help her buy a car.

Thank your lucky stars, man. And don't treat a Firebird and Camaro as if they are separate cars (as evidenced by you asking to know more about Firebirds, because all you know is Camaros). Other than cosmetics and the airbox, a 'Bird IS a Camaro.

BTW Tom, I did conver my car to PW. Best $150 I ever spent, but the most obnoxious weekend of my life LOL. This swap is NOT for the novice

What's even better is 10 months later, they still work flawlessly...and they roll up and down as fast as the '97
