went to the track, 60' times suck!

I could only manage a 16.5 . My 60 foots are killing me. Whats really weird is I;ve found out that .02 or .03 on my 60 foot times equates to about a tenth off a second from my 1/4 miles time.
for instance:

my best time last year was 16.09 with a 2.21 60'.

a week ago... 16.3 with a 2.26 60'
16.4 with a 2.27 60'

and last night a 2.29 60' going 16.5.

so it looks like all I need to do is get the 60' down in the 2.19-2.20 range and I will be doing 15's, but my 3.73's coupled with the open rear end and all my mods are really killing me off the line. oh well.<vent off>

Man get slicks and you will be all over the 15 mark Try "street slicks" too like hooser or MT's. You are very close to the 15's that they will help ya. Also ya might wanna try playing with your rear springs. Airbags might do the trick, Traction/lift bars and even body bars might do it. There is .3 seconds in any of those if you haven't tuned the suspention yet

Consider playing with your tire pressure... Overinflate the front and under-infalte the rear.... I think 30 or 28PSI rear, and 36 38 front I got my best times...

What about un-doing the front anti-sway bar end-links? Isn't that supposed to help with weight transfer (as long as the ends of the bar don't drag on the racetrack)?

Dumb question:

I have seen yer sig before and i am going off memory here...

Ya have a good cam, headers, shaved heads chip and posi....

I look at your times of 16 flat... Thats very respectable for our cars. If driven right you should be able to hold with a same year 305 to about 50 to 60. But when i see your sig i ask myself WHY are you not doing the next stuff to get ya into the low 15's NA

Port/gasket match the intakes. - easy weekend work.

Get a port and polish on the heads with the work going into the exhuast side, light pocket porting on the intake side. - can be done yerself over a week or get it done.

Get a old TB and get it reworked OR go to a 53mm TB from a 4th gen 350 motor like the LT1. - Can be done yerself or get it done

Get a custom chip programed - or do one yourself. - can be programed yerself or get it dynotuned.

Get a fuel/spark managment system - these are worth so HP and TQ - Holly commander series are awesome. They control EVERYTHING.

Go for a 50 to 75 shot of NOS on a dry system. - easy as pie.

Bro, you are close to having a real nice V6 runner, your just not matching parts. If i misread your sig please forgive me. I just REALLY wanna see a second person make it into the 13's on a 3.1L it can be done

thanks man for the suggestions.

my mods are:
*crane 2030 cam
.020 shaved off heads
* 302 V8 springs
* 3.4 pacesetter headers
*2.5 inch catback with super turbo
*cold air intake
*hypertech pullies.
*acell 8mm/ high output coil
*B&M shiftkit
*3.73(open rear end)

My problem really isnt power its traction, the car is capable of AT LEAST 2.21 60 foots. and I;m doing 2.27-2.29's, which is making run several tenths slower.

Get a Posi rear end. That will double the amount of rubber that you are getting traction from.

I was wondering, how many horsepower do you get out of the crane cam, and what does it do to your gas milage...With all your mods what is your milage like?
