got two more questions for yall

I think i figured out why the hell my car keeps dying but i need yall's opinions on it, ok..when i changed my starter i broke the stupid ESC(electronic spark control)sensor and it wouldnt plug back into the block so i left it for a few days till i could buy a new one, so those few days i was driving around without the ESC plugged in it wouldnt want to die after the engine warmed up, for the people who dont know the ESC is what retards the spark and what not, so i'm thinking i have a bunk ESC or something, i couldnt find the little plug in part at any junkyards or auto parts stores so i have to go to a chevy dealership and get the part there, $20 for that stupid part...geez! So i install it and from then on my car still wants to die, does anybody think there could be something wrong with my ESC/knock sensor. Thats the first problem, the second one is about my tranny, does anybody know what it means when your trans. wont shift after about 2nd or 3rd, it shifts to that then it just wont shift anymore and revs up to about 4.5k RPM's and thats while im in overdrive, drive is completely gone, it just relines, same thing happens as OD if i put it in 1st or 2nd manually. Any insight is appreciated. TIA

To start with, have you checked your timing lately? Whats the condition on the motor? Best thing to do is do a major tune up first of all, make sure everything is in spec and stuff. Also, our v6's didnt come with a knock sensor and the ESC wouldnt be one of the first things on the list. As for your tranny, check the condition of the fluid first. Is it burnt? Low level? Bring that back up to speed, and if the tranny is still doing weird things like that, it might mean a rebuild. Good luck!

You are now going to be rebuilding the transmission.
Sorry, it's the truth.
No magic potion or pills or answers will work as well as rebuilding the tranny.
Mine does the same thing.
I'm having it rebuilt.
DON'T CHANGE FLUID, tranny'll get worse.
Promise. I made that mistake.

yes the 3.1's did come with knock sensors, i should know, i broke the damn thing, its a beotch to replace. I've already realized i'm going to have to replace or rebuild the tranny but since it cost hella money to rebuild i was wondering how much i could get one for from a junkyard and just replace it. I dont have a whole lot of money to throw around and its my only car so if my car is out of commision so am i, so i need the cheapest fastest way.

knock sensors are soo much fun to change... lol i had to replace mine the same day i did my coolant temp sensor and all my sensors were bad but in realty it was the computer. But did u reset the computer??? Wow the fire is almsot out **** burned 285 acres and if it went down the hill another 1/4 mile i would of been able to walk out front and put my hand in it its only 10 percent contained

i've reset my computer so many times its not funny, i unplugged the sensor yesterday and reset the conputer again and now it runs fine except for the whole tranny thing, doesnt want to die or anything, does anybody know why this is????
