Interested in Headers for 2.8/3.1/3.4?

I talked to a guy who swears he knows someone who sells Headers for the 60* V6 in our F-bodies. I should know something next week.

What do I need to check on? Im guessing EGR provision would be nice, what else?

Im gonna keep TTT'ing this to let people know
and to gauge response.

The shop is RK Sports, and the guy says that "due to lack of interest" its not on their web site.

I dont know the brand or the Carb number. I will know that probably wednesday. It very well may be the Mesa ones. Or it may be something else. But I figure it would be worth looking into, just in case, right?

MY option is 100% legal and attainable. Could be a good price if I get 10 people to commit. Extrude Hone process.

OK 3.4 headers we can get and modify we all know that. Are these 3.1/2.8 for the 82-92 RWD F body, if not then it does us no good because we know we can heat and bend the 3.4 headers.... and we can buy them for around 160 bucks even.

I specifically told him we were looking for headers for the 2.8 V6 for the F-bodies. That, in my opinion, limits it to the 84 - 92 f-bodies.

Now, if he is going to try to pass the 3.4 off on me or not, I dont know. I should find out either tomorrow (tuesday) or wednesday.

Hmmm the 3.1 is the same block!. Same pipes to fit. The 93-95 3.4 will not fit with out massaging becasue the underbellies are different betwen the 82-92 and the 93-95

Well, phooey. I've been made a fool. They dont have the headers for the 2.8/3.1. They said "Look in the back of Chevy Hi Performance"

Sorry guys, I really mean well.

Edelbrock makes headers for the 2.8L Jimmy\Blazer which with few mods i bet someone might be able to get them to fit.

The only problem with the Blazer headers is that they are tuned for truck applications. They tend to improve the low end more than the mid and high end where most sports cars spend their time.

The Blazer headers would probably improve power a bit but not as much as headers designed with a sports car in mind.

I know that other than while launching, my car spends most of its time in the mid to upper RPM range where truck headers are not really designed to improve flow and other dynamics very well.

This is only my opinion gathered from different readings and conversations.

Figure out how to improve the juction of the two exhaust manifold pipings to the CC and ya get free horsepower! Like probably up to 10!
look at that pipe from the engine bay passenger side & see what I mean!
