DAMN IT!

well a few of you may have read that I got some new tires from Tirerack.com. Great deal too... Firestone SZ50's 225/60/15 massive meats too... oh and 77.50 a piece shipped too. 7 bucks mount and balance(I did it).

Anyway as a few of you may have also known I could always chirp 3rd, for many many months in the past... Well that went BY BY with these tires!. These things grab the road like bear claws. LOL. So far I have gone up 5 on ramps to 57(illinois) and I felt like my front end was gonna go before the rear!. The front still have close to 7/8 32'nds too!. I have tried everything shifting at 6k even! nothing!. Just a squat and go. I liked that 3rd chirp damn it. It still hits 2nd at least though...

He's saying that his tires actually grab now. in other words, he had crappy bald tires before and could chirp 3rd, but now he can't.

THEN, i got wind of SZ50 firehawks on sale for $66 each at TIRERACK.com

so i got them put on, and now i can only chirp 1-2 but, i feel a bit quicker offa the line

umm i'm not flaming...just wondering...
why do you wanna chirp tires? it means break of traction and obviously slows you down...i'd rather just go.... but i'm more about performance than show..

just my .02

I was posting this because I liked to be able to chirp third because it was an intimadation factor... I have had a few people drop off as soon as they heard that 3rd gear chirp.

My old tires were not bald by any means, 5/32's or maybe a little more. But these things Just grab the road. I had to replace both because I was going back to stock size from 205/60/15's. And one got a hole(tear) in it(not fixable). These directional's cannot be beat for 77.50 shipped!. They even fill the well a little better too!.

The thing about the on ramps was the front tires "felt" like they were gonna lose traction. Weither or not they would have I don't know they just felt like they were. But the rear end was firmly planted I must say. I highly recomend these tires!.
