I was wondering here, everyone seems to know good air intake ideas for Camaro's, but does anybody have any good ones for a Firebird?

jimmy-rigged ram air; Lose a head light, get a 3' vaccum hose and a k&n. There you go.

Here's how ya do it (FIREBIRD) & it's quite effective.
You take off the stock box lid.
Notice it has the angled down air inlet?
GO GET A HEAT GUN AND FLATTEN THAT DOWN ANGLE AREA, DO NOT REMOVE IT!!! Make it level with the top.
THEN, take your headlight, with the hood line. See that tiny spacing? Loosen the headlight assembly, so the back is now, lower then the hood line, by as much as ya can. I have mine down by a 1/4"-1/2". There is now more air flowing in. What I will do next, is cut the underside hood brace area. IF ya notice, that brace sits right in the way of the air flow. The new/more extra air flow, goes under that hood brace and the top of the radiator core support. I am cutting two holes in the under hood brace and then my car will have a stright shot of fresh air!
I know just straightening the top of the air box, gave me more air. I actually have to clean my K & N Filter soon, more dirt is on it!!
The air box air inlet is at the upper right back corner of the Passener side Firebird Head light lid. That's the area, you concentrate on for increasing the air inlet to air filter.

KED, I was thinkin if the top of the headlight could be made as a functional scoop, like that one rx7's headlight? (if anyone has that pic, please post it) Cut the top of the headlight (painted trim piece) and then cut the brace behind the headlight, then face the opening of the air box towards the headlight.Would that work? Maybe put a GTA hood louvre in the place of the cut out part and it would look kinda nice. Or would it just not allow enough air flow than your idea?

EDIT: I found the pic. Instead of that hershey's kiss looking thing, how bout a GTA hood scoop?

That's not a bad thought. I was just planning on cutting the top 1" or so of mine, anyway. I have another headlight cover, to play with. They cost nothing at wrecking yards.
