Brotherly competition...

Well, I have a problem...

My brothers ******* GT has had some work done, H-pipe, dual flowmaster 40's, and a K&N.

No match eh? even if I put a new cam and rocker, port the plenum and valves, get custom headers, new ignition system, NOS kit... (dream V6)?

let me know where you live and you can use my car

But on a serious side.. get the full induction ported, cam, and a 100 shot and 3.73 gears with posi, i dont think you'll have any problems.

Well, by the time I get the money to pay for all the damn mods, I could buy a Z/28...

BUT, my car IS payed for. I would be nice to have a 6 that can beat his 8.

I have ALOT of work to do.

Yeah, that'll be tough.. our V6's can easily beat an out of tune "poser-driven" V8, but to beat one in good shape is a helluva chore.

You might be able to snag him off the line with your car's rear gear, but he'll probably start to walk away after 35 mph or so...

personally, i will never buy a v8 thirdgen.. their fast out of the box, but i want something in a thirdgen that i have to use my own hands to make fast. Next year ill be buying a 2001 Firebird with the 3.8 and 5 speed... and drop probably 5000 into it right away in a supercharger and other assorted goodies...i only buy v8's outside of fbodys, like my chevelle.

Well, I don't know...

I want to get a Z one day and will probably end up getting a Thirdgen Z/28. I love the body style of the car and just can't wait to get the power and upgradeability of the 350 big block.

But, until then I will probably upgrade my car... for x-mas I will probably get a 2030 cam and rockers for myself. Then rear gears, hopefully that will help out a bit.

What about in the 1/8 mile, it seems the closest drag way is 30 minutes away and 1/8 mile. He is getting ancy

Just go run the 1/8 and see what happens. If i were you, i'd go one or 2 times before you race him. Get some knowledge up about how to. Remember, rev to about 2k, take off at the last staging light. dont shift too soon, dont do a burnout on street tires, drive the opposite side in the burnout box then they sweep all the tire crap into.
