vanishing post
I guess its ok for Billy to post a joke on here b/c he is the moderator .(he posted one in the past) But when someone else post one it gets taken off the board
we really should have a V6 board where we can just shoot the $h*t when we want to . Billy you could have left it open for atleast a few min

Yea I have send Dirk a few emails about starting a non tech board for shooting the $hit, but to no avail. I agree we need to be able to stink it up around here.

There used to be a non-tech board and it was taken advantage of a long time ago from what I can tell. www.nethirdgen.org is a good place for non-tech, but you'll have to email the webmaster to register you, because i dont' think that they're acceting new registrations right now. That's how I had to sign up.
Wayne, if you have a problem w/ the way I moderate, feel free to email Dirk.

Damn, I thought this message was about something else. Since it's not, I'll make it!
Anyone else have this problem? If I post a reply to a message, and then go back and read the message again, my reply isn't there. I have to click on "reload". I never had to do that before! I didn't change my browser config, and I've even tried clearing my disk cache and memory cache, closing Netscape, and going back in- I /still/ have to hit reload! This has been going on for about 2.5 weeks... anyone else get this?

It's just your borwser cahce doing it to you. If you have a conection to the inter net other then dial up you can change the settings and it will resolve the problem and also speed up page loads a tad.
If you use IE click on the "tools" menu and then on "internet options". Then in the "tempory internet files" section click on "settings". In the section labled "check for newer versions of stored pages" chose allways. Then in the section labled "Amount of disk space to use" lower it to 1MB. It's the lowest you go.
This will force your browser to load the page from the server every time you go to it, instead of loading it from the cache on your local machine. If you have a DSl or other high speed access this will speed up page loads by automaticly loading the new page instead of comparing it to the one stored in the cahce. Less = faster. If you use netscape I have no Idea which options to chose. i hate netscape, it crashes to much.
hope this helps.
Edit: fixed a few mistakes.

Wayne, if you haven't noticed, CC doesn't get a chance to frequent here a lot, and it's kinda hard for me to keep up w/ school and work and social life and all the posts at the same time. As always, if anyone ever sees a thread that is getting out of hand, they're more than welcome to email me and I'll make sure I actually get to it. I do my best to try and check every thread in here.
