72 Hours to Legality and Freedom!!!!
I went home for the weekend, and yesterday finally went through my mail that's been accumulating over the semester. I got a city sticker finally (about 6 months overdue), so I put that in right away. Came back upstairs, opened my next piece of mail, Illinois EPA, I'm considered compliant with emmissions until May of 02 because I keep the car down here at school or up in Wisconsin 10 months out of the year! No testing, no worries. =) And finally today, I just got off the phone with purchasing for myself SR-22 insurance (got in an accident, whoops), so I get my license back!!! Tell me, does life get better?
For anyone in IL, check out Weiss Insurance Group, I'm only paying $650 or so for a FULL YEAR of SR-22 insurance, and I'm only 22. That's dirt cheap.

OK, back from the depths, I just ran across this old posting of mine, and I had to say, that insurance company is the devil. I lapsed on payments while I was out of state over the summer, so they cancelled my insurance. No big deal. I came back, paid them up, and they said everything was fine now, so I say great, and go driving about my merry way.
A week later, I was stopped and arrested for driving on a suspended license. Apparently everything was not ok, in fact, things were pretty damn far from ok. I called my insurance company wondering what the hell was going on, and they said ""oh, we forgot to tell you? You gotta wait 30 days..."
So I wait 30 days, nothing. I call the state to see if they've heard from my insurance company, and they say "Nope. And we're processing things in 5-7 days now, so we must have lost it or they didn't send it." I call my insurance company, and I'm cool about it, I say the state seems to have lost the paperwork, could you send it over again?" They say they will.
Two weeks go by, so I call the state again, and they say, "Nope, never heard of them [my insurance company]." So I wait, having faith in my company, cause they've been good to me before.
2 days before the court date, I call them, getting a little pissed, and tell the that I need a copy of the forms they claim they've been sending to the state, and a cover letter swearing they've been sending it each time I've asked now, and I need it in overnight mail for my court case. My court date comes up and I'm totally empty haned going before the judge. They sent nothing.
I called them when I got in from court, and asked for a manager. I was hung up on. I called back really pissed, and told them that if I manager didn't call me before 5 that night, my lawyers would be calling in the morning, and I was already calculating the damages not having a license has done to me for the last several months. Half an hour later, the manager calls me, apologizes, but says there's nothing he can do about the last few months since I didn't have the names of the people I talked to on the phone. I"m still screaming lawsuit at him as we finish the conversation, and he tells me I need to be patient, cause the state is, and I quote "full of it" if they told me they'll process in only a week. I hang up with him, and one week to the day later I have a new license.
I think the company looks even worse since I had to threaten lawsuit to get them to do their job, but as soon as I did, everything was taken care of.
In summation, I'm begging you guys, don't go near this company if your lives depended on it. If I have my way, they'll be sued broke and then have their license to sell insurance in this state revoked in the next few months anyway.

As for locked, hey it lasted before.
Define irony, I had a six, Kyle had an 8, and we always fought, now it's the same the other way around...some things never change...

that sucks bro. Ins. rapes me out of $170 a month for liability since I had 2 accidents when I was a teenager. Some of it should come off of my record in a few months drop me down about 40 bucks, but even if its 130 a month thats still high.
