Hello everyone! Got into a heated debate with my gf a few hours ago about who would win in a 1/4 mile race. Her's being a 2000 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport with a 2.2L (bone stock) and mine being the 3.1L Bird! Specs are about equal on both cars and I said I would most likely win cause my car can go in a straight line

What do you guys think? I wanted to make this like PINKS but she insisted on a money bet so winner gets 500$ in a best of 3 series!

 

Stock 3.1L automatics running low to mid 17's in the real world with a decent launch. A stick 3.1L might squeeze off a 17.0 or 16.9 if your good and lucky....

Personally mine was running 17.3's bone stock. Got crap loads of slips to prove it

Thats slow as a turd, in todays standards....Honestly I dont know what the Impreze stock times are but i woulod bet its faster in the 1/4 mile then a stock thirdgen V6. Sorry but you gotta shed some weight and add mods to make the car beat many cars such a 4 banger cavaliers, as I got tosted by them all the time at the track and wow is that imbarassing!!!

Damn man, when I put my girl to bed she'll agree with anything I freaking say, afterward If your bird is running decently, and if you know how to drive it, you may have a chance. But come on now, $500 to the winner? I could think of at least two different things I'd rather get if I win (see my sig), although it should of course happen even if you lose too...

Well where do ya live?? I live at about 600 above sea level. And the car had super low miles on it when i was racing it bone stock.

I squezzed out some 16.7's and 16.8's this past summer with just exhasut mods and weight reduction(stock cam, stock heads)

Heres the last few i had last fall, The Trap MPH is freaking horrible!!!!

 

Hahaha! She had started it and of course I wasn't going to say "yeah your car should and would beat mine." Though it'll be fun and thanks for the heads up on the times! Thing is her brother had the same car, modded out beyond belief, and his fastest was a 17.9??? He isn't a bad driver either, much better than me! So I would think I could win it?
