Im a BOP person but

just for giggle, run the car in the dark with the hood up and look for leaking spark. Then mist water from a spray bottle on ign stuff and look again.

since you say timing is right ^

I'll help you massivedodge, but only after you edit your post by adding periods & commas. You had no problem capializing your name, so give that a try too. Its damn hard to read.

Re: v6 2.8l 88' boggs out badly

I'm also having the same problem as well and its driving me nuts.

i fixed my fuel leak with a 2.9L injector swap and fixed my fuel pressure with a new fuel pump, but everytime i rev the car to about 3000 - 3500 its back fires through the intake. Also when i hold the rpm's steady at about 2000 after a few seconds it drops back down to 1000 and below by its self.

Any thoughts would be appriciated, Thanks in adanvce..

Re: v6 2.8l 88' boggs out badly

MASSIVEDODGE so I'm hoping this solves you problem as it did mine today....
Do your self a favour and get a timing gun and check your ignition timing.
Mine was way off and was giving the same symptoms. After a bit of tweaking the car finally ran right and I can rev way past 3000 rpm without any intake backfire.

Hope this helps... Never know till you try

mine was only a little off and did that, the hold down wasn't tight enough and it moved only about a inch in each direction, one spot it ran awesome, other like crap. and it went back n forth on its own it seemed, making it hard to figure out.

lol commas and periods arnt things i use
but i did disconnect the MAF and the car runs awsome as hell so that was the issue might be the sensor or a ground short who knows once i replace it if it still does this then its gotta be a short

thanks everyone you dont know how much reading i have done LOL
