Re: seafoam question

kinda caught me off guard. i knew it was supposed to smoke but the egr valve was pouring it out as i was pouring it in so i cut the engine sadly i didnt commit and only did about 1/5 can in the vacuum and about 1/3 can in the gas tank. i can feel a big difference in the throttle tho, even tho i didnt do a full third. would it hurt the engine if i poured the other part in the vacuum line even after i already did the 1/5 and cleared the smoke?

Re: seafoam question

I did mine (91 3.1) just putting it in the gas. It took maybe 3 or 4 cans in tankfuls of gas but it was easy and there was no smoke. I could feel a small improvement each time I drove. When I got the car it would hardly pull 3k rpm and now it'll run easily to 5500 with more if I let it. My experience with it has been great.

Re: seafoam question

Re: seafoam question

If you took care of your car for that 175K you should be able to use seafoam without it damaging your seals. Just follow the instructions, don't put it into an almost empty gas tank either.

Re: seafoam question

I'm not to sure of where is was comming out from. it was just comming out of the bottom of it, I'm guessing the diaphragm. is wasn't really coming out when I turned the car back on just when I was pouring it in. I was kinda guessing the EGR was going, the service engine light comes on when I go about 85-90 on the freeway but when I slow down again it goes away. haven't tried pulling codes yet

Re: seafoam question

If you pour the Seafoam in the Gas tank or in The Oil then you should change the oil right away within 100 miles and burn off the gas tank and pour in new Gasoline

Re: seafoam question

I can tell you in the motorcycle world, people use half a can to a full tank of gas [3-4gal] and go out for long hard rides and it fixes so many funky running problems, that its almost like magic how it works so well. Where other snake oil do not.

now when it comes to adding it to the oil, you follow the direction to the letter.

Re: seafoam question

I only did it in the vacuum line and gas tank. I might be changing lots of parts, mostly filters and sensors
