**SOLD** Selling 3.4, whats a good price?
**ENGINE IS SOLD**
Im moving on to a 327, gonna sell my 3.4, its close to 200hp. What do you all think is a good asking price for my engine? Here is a list of what mods Ive done.
94 3.4L with about 90K, complete regasket and new oil pump, waterpump, timing chain/gears at 53k. Its a 2.8 to 3.4 stealth swap
- Melling MTC5 cam/lifters
- Comp Cams 1.52 roller tip rockers
- 180 t-stat
- mild port work to heads
- port work to intake manifold
- polished TB opening
- LS1 valve springs
- underdrive crank pulley
- 8mm spark plug wires
What sounds like a good asking price for that?
I can also include Pacesetter headers/Y-pipe, dual snorkel intake with 2 K&N air filters and gutted air box, centerforce dual friction clutch with pressure plate and throwout bearing, and ECM/harness for a negotiable price.

Re: Selling 3.4, whats a good price?
Is it clean? Was it completely rebuilt? How long ago since the work was done time/miles?
There's a lot of variables that will effect the price of something like this, the largest being market demand.
Some people will also pay more for something they can hear running, before buying.
Have a look through the classifieds section, Kijiji, Craigslist, eBay and any other site or sales media you can think of to get an idea what current market value is, and adjust your price accordingly. Just be aware that to some people, the changes you have made from stock will reduce the value in their eyes.
This is borderline classifieds material, but I'm going to allow it for now in this section, at least until you come up with a value, or a few more people post, giving ideas of what value might be.

Re: Selling 3.4, whats a good price?
If I personally heard it ran and you could prove all the mods/newer parts are on the car via recepts and letting me pull valve covers exc. Id say 500 bucks giver or take a few hunderd buck (with the harness). This is also if the demand was good. Like sixshooter said, you have to find a buyer and thats what will make the price what it is. Supply and demand.... That price may be lower then you want or higher then ppl think as thats just what I would use as a base price IF I wanted a 3.4L which I dont need right now. Just commenting thats all.

I got a 88k mile complete 3.4 for $200. I'd say $400+ for yours.
On a side note, you wanna sell those headers?

Re: Selling 3.4, whats a good price?
As far as the rebuild goes, it was a complete regasket, i didnt touch the rings or bearings since it only had 53k on it.
Its still in the car so i would be able to let the buyer hear it before i pull it.

Re: Selling 3.4, whats a good price?
If you were local and I could hear it running or at least see a dated video of it revving, I would be tempted to pay $500 for it. sounds like a nice engine
Seriously... why do you have to be so far away from me?

Re: Selling 3.4, whats a good price?
Providing that it's clean , sounds good , and comes with all the little goodies that won't be used in the conversion to an 8 , I think $500 sounds like a fair price . Trending Topics

Re: Selling 3.4, whats a good price?
I'm jaded since stock 3.4Ls are so cheap. I like what you've done, so I'd be willing to pay $400.
Just keep in mind that it will probably take you a while to find the right buyer. Most people on ebay, craigslist, and such are just looking for the cheapest stock junk. They won't understand your higher price.

Re: Selling 3.4, whats a good price?
like I said, If I saw that engine for $500, I would buy it, especially if I could hear it run, but I really like the V6 camaros, and that's kind of rare.
I've been looking for a engine like this for a long time, and haven't had any luck.

Re: Selling modded 3.4 in Michigan, anyone interested?
Sorry for resurrecting the dead, I'm looking to sell my 3.4. If anyone is interested, it's still in the car and running so you can hear it.... or drive it before snow falls. I don't really want to mess around with shipping right now, so it would have to be a pick up only... or maybe meet half way if its not too far. If anyone is seriously interested, i would require some kind of a deposit before I pull it, for obvious reasons.
This will be posted in the sale forum too, but I figured it would get more visibility here.
