Please Help!! 92 rs 3.1
Hi everyone im new to the site and didnt know where else to turn for help. I have a 1992 camaro rs 25th anniversary edition with a 3.1 v6. Ive been having a "ghost" problem that comes and goes randomly. Starting cold the car cranks and runs perfectly. Ive noticed that after it has warmed up completely and has been driven for like 30 mins it starts to run a little rougher and if i stop somewhere and shut the car off, when I go to restart the car I will get ignition but it will "chug", it will have no power, the rpms will surge up and down and if i press the gas it will struggle to hold rpms. eventually the engine will die and it will get to the point where if I try to restart it wont even ignite. when this happens, I have to sit and wait like 15-30 minutes depending on how "nice" my car wants to be and it will restart like normal eventually. like i said, this problem only occurs after the engine has warmed up and the car has been driven somewhere, and the car always returns back to normal after I let it sit for a period of time.
Parts I have replaced trying to fix this:
EGR
O2 sensor
Ignition Module
Ignition Coil Pack
Spark Plugs and Wires
MAP Sensor
IAC Valve
PCV Valve
I have not replaced the fuel pressure regulator but have used a troubleshooting guide to check it and it seems fine
I really have no idea what else could be causing this problem, any help would be greatly appreciated!

have the ignition moudle warrented ive seen them go bad in a day or 2.
also pull the distributor cap then the rotor and check the condition of the pickup coil under the rotor , this is a commonly forgot about part that can cause the same symptoms

I had a similar problem with my IROC, the car would run good when the engine was cold but as soon as the engine would warm up 20 or 30 minutes later the car would sputter, lose power, when I would try and give it gas it would die and would not start back up until the engine was cold again. The problem ended up being 3 bad fuel injectors. I replaced them and the car ran great. It is very easy to check the OHM reading of the fuel injectors just to be on the safe side as long as you have a voltimeter.

I looked at my pickup coil and it looks really old and worn out so Im hoping thats the problem, I have the new pickup coil but dont have time to remove the entire distributor assembly before going to work so It will have to be another day before I can post my result. and thanks Thiel, I was really hoping it wasnt my injectors b/c theyre like $50 bucks a pop but If replacing the ignition pickup doesnt work then I will move onto the injectors. on the bright side as long as I dont drive the car anywhere before work I can drive it to work with no problems lol

SOLVED! i pulled my distributor to replace the ignition pickup coil and i found that my distributor was completely shot. The o-rings were gone and the teeth around the pickup coil were bent. I replaced the entire distributor and now the problem is gone and its running like a champ. thanks for your help everyone!
