Makin plug wires

Well , I posted a little while back on my plugwire problems .And have learned sence then that the wires I was using really weren't made for the type of heat they go through .I drive to school for an hour doing 70+ and many days pretty warm .Well I put some old wires I had on there , didn't last .They crapped out thurs on me ! Well now that Im off on my break I have the time to make those 8mm accel wires I have .I know how to make them , but I am unable to cut the insulation away from the conductor without damaging it .How do you guys do this ? Thanx guys .
Wayne

You need a spark plug wire striper. They should only cost about $1-$2 at a parts store

You can get some hella tough heat shielding from lowes. Good to 1500* reflects 80Pct of radiant heat. a 12inch by 15 foot roll cost me around 15 bucks I think. Good to cut up and tape and roll on to plug wires maybe(Custom boots/Shields)???

Get a sharp single-edged razor blade; like the kind used in window scrapers. Use it to cut around the wire, and only go "in" a little more than halfway. Then, after the wire's cut all the way around, grab the wire so you've got a hand on each side of the cut. Then, twist the end that you want stripped; the insulation should rip clean off, and leave you with the center core untouched. This is how it's done for MSD wires; hopefully it works for all wires (including Accel) also!
