Oil pressure swith/sender part no?

Hey so when I bought my 3.1 about 4-5 years ago my oil pressure gauge use to work. Then It started leaking and I bought a new one and it never worked ever since so I just ignored it. But I wanna fix it now. I guess they gave me the wrong one. So if anybody knows the part no of the original that would be great.

You probably got the one for the check engine light instead of the gauge.

So I picked up the correct oil pressure sensor and it works. Just wanna know my oil pressure since the 3 lines don't have numbers. I have the guage with the three lines to the far right and three small lines with the L to the left. My pointer sits at about a little past the first line and when I rev it up it moves a bit past the middle line. I had just came from a long drive when I installed it so I was at operating temp. With ignition on car off the pointer sits in the middle.
L/// ^ / / /. Let me know what you think.

Stock gauge sucks so I picked up a sweet Auto Meter oil pressure gauge part no 3321. Kinda pricey at pep boys for almost 80.00$, but made in the good ol USA and way better than those chinese ones. Looks pretty sweet with a blue led. I installed the nylon line and wonder if I should switch to the copper one. I hope the lines hold and not pop out. I snugged them down tight. Anybody had them pop out after a while. They seem pretty tight after I snugged em down. Just worried and thinking copper. So far so good though. Also my psi in gear stopped at a red light sits right about 20-25 . When I take off it jumps to 55 -60. Is this good psi for a 250xxx mile og engine. ? I was a bit low on oil too like half quart when I test drove after gauge install. Sweet

Nice gauge mate , wish mine worked as well , on 250k original pump I'd say your good mate, idle seems a little low , when u say take off , is that cruising speed/ pressure as well . Seems ok . Just don't get hot in traffic !!

Yeah when I cruise its steady at 50-55. In gear my rpms are 650-750 with 20-25 psi stopped at a red light with foot on the brake. In park it jumps up a bit more. you think that's too low for idle? I read that oil pressure at idle should be at least 15 psi.

It sounds fine mate , just if you get in traffic for some time and the oil gets real hot the pressure may fall below the 25 mark , you have a nice gauge now to monitor it so I wouldn't worry , I always leave plenty of space between me and the car Infront to get cleaner cooler air in traffic , and if something does go wrong ( it is an old car ) I have space to pull right over and not get in anyone's way.
but honestly you sound good mate .

v

Yeah I installed a fan toggle switch just for when I'm in traffic. Just flick the switch and instantly my temp goes down. I use my stock temp gauge to monitor my temp and never had a problem. But I'm thinking of getting another gauge for my coolant temp to know exactly my temp.
