Re: Vaccum Lines That Are Disconnected
Lots of hackery in those pics. In the last one with the battery: the open T had a hose that goes up the drivers fender to the firewall, over the booster, and on to the rear of the plenum. At that point is a vacuum line that comes from the back of the plenum and to a check-valve/T that resides over the distributor. The vacuum line in question connects to the side port of that valve/T.
The line that is over the top of the battery goes to the vacuum reservoir under the car (the Orb of Power).
The washer pump hose goes on to the firewall where it connects to the wiper arm nozzles. It travels the same path as the open T vacuum hose.
There is supposed to be a plastic shield between the positive battery post and the metal wheel well.
In the first pic (CCP canister). The line that is connected to the canister (not the purge valve). Is supposed to go into the open fender with lines going up and down. These have open ends as they allow air into the canister during purge, and out of the canister when fumes are entering it.
.The port that has purge on it goes to the throttle body. It may be one of the lines shown in the second pic. At idle see if the open line in the 2nd pic has vacuum. If not then open the TB some and then see if it has vacuum. If it does this (no vac then vac) that line goes to the purge solenoid.
The vacuum line in the metal clip doesn't belong there. That clip is for the #1 spark plug wire.
If the open line in #2 pic always has vacuum, it goes to the AIR pump control valve. Which means that the vac line in the metal clip may go to the purge CCP solenoid.
In a stock configuration, the line that goes to the purge port (CCP), originates at the throttle body as a hard nylon line. This hard line stops over the exhaust manifold between the coil and EGR valve. There is a rubber vac line that jumps across to the fender (behind the strut mount) where it then goes forward to the purge port.
