Need help with vaccume hose replacement

Has anyone with a 3.1 V6 engine ever replaced the vaccume hose going to the port that sits below the alternator ?
I don't know what this vaccume port is but Im having trouble getting a new replacement hose , pushed on to it . It's a 5/32"
hose, I tried long reach pliers and hose pliers with no luck.
Also, a photo of the hoses where they connect at the back of the plenum will probably be needed so I can connect this correctly.
A lousy mechanic redid my vaccume hoses and connected them wrong and left the 5/32" hose hanging down towards the oil pan.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Re: Need help with vaccume hose replacement

I thought the same as you and bought the HFT hose grip pliers.
They are the wrong size, that set includes 3/8" , !/2" & 3/4" pliers.
The hose is 5/32' and slides through the pliers.
Tomorrow, I'll try and wrap the pliers with tape to make them smaller.
I already have the new hose , from Autozone.
