Can not get off distributor

Hello. My 1990 3.1 V6 is leaking oil from the distributor shaft, and I want to change the O-ring, but I can't get the distributor out. I'll tell you how I did it to see if there's any mistake. I disconnect the battery. I remove spark plug 2. It should be plug 1, but access is difficult. I turn the crankshaft pulley until its large mark is on the large V-shaped mark on the bracket. There are two narrower marks on the pulley. I continue turning the pulley until the tip of the rotor points to where the spark plug wire 1 would go on the cover. I remove the wires, cover, and cable tie. Then I pull up the distributor and turn it counterclockwise. But it only separates slightly from the engine.
