Trans Shifting

ok, the other day i'm sitting at a red light and when it turns green , i nail it. it shifts fine the first time, and the second, but then instead of it's next shift it just stays in third gear and wont shift unless i take my foot all the way out of it and the rpm's drop to like 2000., then it will shift to the next gear and so on.
if i drive normal and casual it shift's fine through every gear. my fluid level is correct.
i adjusted the cable ( or reset the cable on the t/b) like it say's to. is it just wear and tear finally catching up to it?
144,000 miles on it now .

The trans shifts at Throttle Vs Line pressure. If either are too high it holds the gear. Its normal if you do a hard take off the line pressure skyrockets and has to wait to come back down.

I heard thats just a prob with A4's. It wont shift into overdrive when your redlining it.. you can get a valve to stop it but the only way it will go into 4th is if u let off like half throttle otherwise it'll downshift again.

the 700r4 trans is known for this. they all do it, it's normal. i tried for a long time to fix this problem without knowing that they all do it, i would recommend getting a trans-go shift kit

re.trans

so, line pressure is controled by the tb cable rite? ok, should the end that is connected to the throttle body , should there be any slack after the clip where it connects, i meen should it stay tight agenst the cable crimp at all times, because when i reset the cable , i can still pull the crimp on the end of the cable about 3/8 of an inch and it will still be cliped on.

and i post in this section because i can get more sugestions by reaching more people .

thanks for the replys. any more help, please respond.

u can fix it without a special blowoff valve. The cable doesnt matter. Thats how the Overdrive in the 700R4 is suppose to act.
