Making V8 wire separators work on a V6

Well I had read in a magazine that wires can crossfire if they cross each other .I had V6 wire separators which I bought that were on my wires .However , the wires touched , I dont know how good it is to have them touching even.Well I have a universal accel set of 8mm . I still had my accel separators that I did not use . I had thought about how Karl had told me how useful hacksaws can be and a lightbulb went off in my head .So I got my wires separators and placed them in my vice and cut them where I needed them ( 2 piece separators , 3 piece separators ) Well ya already have 3's in the box but if you need more ya just cut the 4's.Then save a 4 wire separator for the coil side .Cutting them worked very nicely .Sure , you can tell I cut them , but if you dont want that to be seen when they are on the car , all you have to do is put them on there where they face the motor and you dont see them . I like these separators much better than the other ones .I think the other ones were made for 7mm wires and I have the accel 8mm wires . I had only been driving around for 2 weeks with the wires touching .But for wires that I paid $50 for , I wanna protect my investment .None of my wires are touching now . I just thought this was kinda a neato ideau and it turned out pretty nice . I just hate to see plug wires just thrown on there . I like to see them neat with separators and none of them touching .

Sounds like a good fix! Know what I did? I chucked the stock "routing" of the wires. All my wires leave the distributor cap, and go "in the air" on either side of the plenum. Then they curve downward to go to the spark plugs. You'll know what I mean if you ever see one of those wire loom kits for a V8 that holds the wires "above" the valve covers. If I ever get a website...

They are plastic, right?
Take wire cutters to them!
Even a razor to cut them!
Glad to see you've figured out how to easily protect an investment of your time & such!
Good going!!
I am not proud with wire separators. I use them to my advantage, not for show purposes.
I've got tons of them. I try to pick them up for a $1 a package at every swap meet I go to.
When my creative separator breaks, out comes another. Much cheaper than new plug wires.
The smaller separator on thicker wire is the way to go. That wire will tend not to come loose! If it cracks, back to the separator pile to choose from.

I think thats how I kinda have mine .On the driver's side , mine , from the distributor to a little bit pass the break booster are "in the air " .Then from there I have the plug closest to the dist curving down , then the other two wires I have connected by "2 piece separators run along side then separate about and inch and half before the boots .On the passenger side they start out "in the air "with a 4 clip , one for the coil plug .I have the coil plug going under the three wires ( but not touching them ). I have 2 " 3's" separating afte that , "in the air" then two's separating the other two plugs until about 3 inches from he boots .

V8's will work if you use your head. get the kind with 4- 3- 2 connectors/brackets.
Put the 3 wire connectors at the back end of the engine. 2 wire connector in the middle and the lose 1 you could probly find the holder for that sepatately or just let er hang?.

I was talking about the seperate ones that are in the "dress up" section of parts stores with those tabs that mount under your valve cover bolt?. Just the snap over kind that do not bolt to anything 2 sets of the V8 will do it. Tie all the neseccary wires and have it look clean. I am going by (crap zone tomarrow) so I will write the part numbers down that I am talking about.
