I'll post a pic of those headers mounted on that bare block this week. That'll get you guys drooling... Nice and polished headers...(looking like Homer dreaming of douhnuts) mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.............................

I'm sure my engine stand got all excited thinking YEAH after sitting around for a year on the floor I am FINALLY GONNA GET USED BY THIS A$$... LOL....

Yes , Its the aero package. I've seen 89 V6 models with and without it. Most of the ones I've seen with them were red.
I think where I live is the f-body capital of the world . Every where you look there is a camaro or firebird. There are 2 other cars just like mine around here.
This place is so poor its all we can afford for a sports car. I guess thats a good thing though :rockon:

Actually, I don't have a picture of my engine cause I don't take the 2.8L seriously.
Here's my car pic though. Soon I will have a 305 TPI in it.

My car is a 2 BBL. with an edelbrock intake.

 

did u notice any diff between the stock manifold and edelbrock intake?? u have the 2 bbl edelbock? do u know if its smog legal? thanx..

I just got a 2.8L automatic '88 Camaro.
What should i first that a rookie can do.


This car is has a 2.8L engine, but it was made in 97 cuz a mechanic shop messed it up.

Plz Help..

 

my friend has a 82 camaro with a 2.8 he put a edelbrock 4bbl intake and 600 cfm carb on it. there is a big difference between the stock 2.8 intake and carb. i would quess you could add 20 to 25 hp with that. even with that it doesnt run close to mine!

 

1st- i need to understand this msge board's language cuz i dont understand 75% of the stuff said by people.

2nd- wuts bbl?

3rd- can u put a 3.4 into a 2.8 (how much will it cost)?

 

I can answer them all
1. Stick around here and you will lean many things.
2. bbl means barrel, 2bbl carb= 2 barrel carbuerator.
3. Ask KED85 about the 3.4 swap hes done it,and knows just about everything you'll need to do.

Yeah the intake gave me 20 more horse power just with the 2BBL. intake, i also swaped my electronic distributor for a vacuum advance one, and a non- computer controled carb.


Tech note:
2BBL.- Two Barrel Carb
4BBL.- Four Barrel Carb

Trust me Most of us are like that.

This board also gets a person like me every once in a while that decides to invest a little(OK ALOT $1200) into equipment and some reasearch to make parts for our cars. Like say Headers? turbo install kit?, later an intake?, a real good 3" CAI METAL TUBE kit. just to name a few ideas bouncing around...

i'm one of the newer guys... i showed up here last year with and appetite for wanting a v8
now i want a fast V6
and with the money i'm spending i can get a v8
i have no pics right now
but thats cuz i'm putting in a 3.4L soon
i have the camshaft and valve springs already
$200 already spent
next monday i'm going to buy the 3.4L
and send it to get ported and polished
and have the cams and valve springs put in
i already have my tranny rebuilt and exhaust
so i show be decent now
then on easter vacation the 3.4L is dropping in
i'm looking for how to make my ignition distributorless
and have the 3.4L manifold put in intsead of the 2.8L
i don't have enough for the roller rockers right now being i'm spending way too much money
oh ya... and going turbo eventually
camarohunter i need a list of stuff to put into my engine that way i don't blow up from the boost
