I got THE EPA APPLICATIONS TODAY.

OK GUYS I GOT THE EPA APPLICATIONS FOR CARB TODAY. I wil fill them out and send them in ASAP. I will find out more info after I send them in. This week I am planning on finishing the cleaning of the engine I bought from the Junkyard and begining the head forming on FRIDAY. THIS MEANS THAT 2-3 SETS HOPEFULLY WILL BE READY NEXT WEEK OVER SPRING BREAK. THIS DEPENDS ON HOW FAST I CAN GET THE COLLECTORS TO ME.

What I need to know now is who is hard line ready to have their cars tested with these headers for the EPA ****'s. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CAR IS IN TOP(I MEAN TOP) RUNNING ORDER AND HAS NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER. The cleaner your results the faster the approval of the CARB exception number. I do not care what you have to do to get your car to pass, pull all the stops cheat, lie I don;t care. JUST MAKE SURE IT PASSES WITH FLYING COLORS.

I would like to get at least 3 people for this. Post here or email me if your car is ready for this. The headers for these people will be under normal price so that you have left over for the cross over.

*NOTE* Please get a HEATED O2 sensor installed BEFORE THE TEST. These headers will reduce the exhaust gas temp quite a bit. The heated O2 is self heated and will read correctly.

Whats involved? How much time would I need to spend with the EPA? Or do we just have to go take it down for an emisions test?

As far as I can see you just have to get another sniffer test. BUT you may have to take your car to the "official" EPA testing facility IF THEY suspect something may be up(suspecious) with it.

BUT you do have to take a paper with you that I have to email you saying that you are there with my permission to go through this testing, and that you are seen by the company (me) as a representative of the fore told company. I will find out more as the process of this goes furthur. I would like a copy(scanned is fine) of the results with the signature of the tester along with the name of testing site and site ID/License number(just to make it real official on my part) so that IF the EPA test anyalists have any questions I can point them to where it was tested.

It seems that if these can be tested and the results show NO SIGNIFICANT GAIN of emisions is found that I will then be approved for the CARB EO #.

I have not had to have a sniffer test in a long while so I do not know if any charges are involved (I would bet so) as it's just another way for people to make money. But I will do my best to get these headers to the guys willing to get the testing done for me at a reduced price to help with the cost of the needed cross over and testing fees(If any).

Here in cali it cost $29 + $8 certificate fee.

When i had my last emissions test (back in January) I passed with flying collors. At Idle I was at half (59 = me 120 = max) the acceptable HC count and produced no CO. At 2500 RPM My HC count droped to 3 and CO count stayed at 0. So I have no fear of the EPA man!

Kick butt peps. I got a few people that are going to be doing this. I will bust my *** this weekend and next week getting 3-5 sets done and shipped out. I have been told that the Cali charges for the sniffer testing is between 30-50 so I will try to get these headers out for $70-80(Sorry I got to make somethin). I will pick up next day UPS shipping. I am going to email these people back and see just what exactly qualifes as an "Independant Labratory" for testing. If it just means local sniffer great.

Please find out what does qualify.
I can easily get my car past anyone.
IT's the part "where I leave it with them" that scares me.
My Block has like 46K on it now & it's the 3.4 looking like a 2.8
And running cleaner than required!

I emailed them easrlier today. Waiting for their response. And trust me I hate having to let some mechanic drive my car just 50 feet to get it on the alignment rack never mind leaving it!.

I couldn't care if they drove it fifty feet.
I have "feelings" about what I've heard.
Like 50K mile parts duribility endurance testing.
I hope it's a reasonable response.
I kinda doubt we just drive over to a Smog Check Only station.
Besides, we'd need an EGR set up on the pass pipe.

well these would have the EGR hook up.. The durability thing I don't know... the lady told me this only really takes 2 weeks to gt a EO number if the tests are good...

I am still waiting for their reply though so untill then I am hoping its nothing but another sniffer check, thats all they should really be concerned with anyway.....

I just got an email back from her saking what I had gotten so she could see what I meant.... So waiting again for another more helpful reply....
