Looking at that bar I am willing to guess it will not fit our V6's. Our engines sit too high compared to the V8's. Has anyone bothered to ask the seller if it will fit V6's? I've looked all over the place for STB's for our V6's but there isn't much you can do when the clearance between the hood and engine is basically nothing.
This was his response:
Hello,
I see no reason why it wont but I don't know for sure,
Jamex says it fits all models 82-92. I do know it fits TPI,
hope this helps.
thanks Brent.

did you even try it there? mine will be here the 4th and thats where i would of started to put it.
my self i guess if it goes there i would run a small beed or tack weld the bracket to the body. just so when really stressing it there in no way over time will the bolt holes elongate.

No I didn't try there. I've seen all strut tower bars installed this way. Besides how are you going to aline your car if you need too... Tack welding is a good idea. But I don't drive this car much.
I'll drive it right now.... I'll be back....

Had the bolts in my supply cabinet. But yes you need to buy them.
I used (4) 9/16 bolt (1.5") with (4) nut, (4) washer and (4)lock washer. I lost my lock nut some were or I misplaced it....

Feels stiffer....???? I have subframes and the wonderbar. When I lifted one side to install the strut tower the the other side went up too... Unfortunly I dont drive that car that often... Back to working on the other project....
I always imagined a STB attaching to the struts towers....anyone else??? If it works great!!! I have been wanting to by one, but it just doesn't make sense to me. I have never seen one installed before so I was just going by intuition. But that GREAT that it fits. Nice catch!!!

I just saw your message on the Suspension/Chassis board, and figured you'd post it here, too. That's great that it fits! Glad you put a pic of the clearance between the TB and bar, that was what I asked on the other board.
Do you know how tight the clearance is between the hood and the bar? Did you have to remove your hood insulation for it, or did you remove the insulation a long time ago?
And yeah, this is how all f-body strut tower bars attach. The "strut tower" is actually the raised up piece of frame on either side of the engine. The "strut mount" is the piece that sits on top of the strut towers, and takes the upper strut nut. Plus, notice how Firebird90 didn't put the strut bar brackets against the strut mounts. Those strut mounts get moved during an alignment. If he sandwiched them against the strut tower, the next time he went for an alignment, he'd have a problem.

I guess I did one thing right ... LOL
There is about ~.125"-.2" between the TB and the bar. I noticed that you can raise the bar a little more.
The hood insulation (From the factory) is still there. I can see where the strut tower holders have marked them up a little. Just looks like something is rub up against it.
As you can tell I'm happy it fits. Always wanted one...

Just got my bar today, I had to mod mine up just a little different. If you look at Firebird90 pics the second one from the top, I had to slide the bracket to the left on the angel side of the strut tower but still where it is double thick. The bar is at a 45 when looking at it from the front. But it is just as high as the throttle body now. I had to do this other wise the bar would interfere with my ram air system.
