Which tires should i get.
I have just finished refurbishing my aluminum 5 spoke 15" Z28 rims And i am looking to get a new set of summer tires. I have heard good and bad things about the tires i want to get. I am looking at Bf Goodrich radial TA's. Should i get them or do you have any better suggestions. I am looking to spend about $500 for all four tires.

I've had good luck in the past with BF T/A's. Otherwise Firestone Indy 500s are good too.

cooper cobras have been good to me, but when u burn them they tend to throw more rubber chunks then they burn. if that helps... also bfg potenzas are great

firestone has a good reputation of their tires falling apart, cances of yours coming apart might be slim, but idk, i cant tell, they just happen, not to every pair ever sold but some of them do. cooper cobras suck when bald, lol, mine burnouts finally paid out with bald tires, and when cobras are bald i guess they bubble, and make it a rough ride.

Sumitomo HTR Z II if they come in your size. I have them on my car and they perform excellent for the money. $92ea for 275/40/17.

ive put 2k miles on my Hankooks and they are holding up well. only cost me $420 mounted and balanced. Handle wet weather well and are so much cheaper than the goodyears. Firestones id never put on my car.

My friends buddy has a 1987 berlinetta and is using these tires actually and i like the way they look on the car the white lettering is one of the things i like most about them and the reviews online are pretty good too.

Re: Which tires should i get.
i use the indy 500's. with the 15 inch 7 inch wide rims an went with 275/60 15 on the rear and 255/60 15 on the front.that is about the max for the front with those rims and tires and im maxed out on the rears too.
i paid about 360.00 plus 40.00 for mounting, balancing, stems.
i have pics on my site.
they are not for fast corners or drag racing, but they are fine for running on the road up to 110 which is faster than i ever go.
i like them.

Re: Which tires should i get.
Wow glad i found this. I need to replace my 10 year old tires on my car. Has anyone ever used the Yokohama Avid V4s? I have Yokohama's on my civic and while they are absolutly terrible in snow, in the rain and dry weather, they just dont let go.
They are not a summer specific tire, they are considered all season high performance. I dont drive the iroc in the winter, but dont see a need for summer specific tires.

Re: Which tires should i get.
They have finally arrived and look awesome. They are well worth the wait and work. My dad said i should sell them to help pay for university who is he kidding not a chance.
Re: Which tires should i get.
bfg radial ta are junk. i work at a tire shop n tho they look cool there low quality the innerliner cracks and the tread peels easily. firestone indy 500s are awesome for holding the road tho they aren't the longest lasting but the hold is enough for me to run them. the best tires for quality hold n long lasting is nitto 555s but u have 2 pretty much have 17 inch rims n there pricy if u dont work at a tire shop

I have a set of T/A's on a Monte Carlo SS. They are not a great tire, but not a bad tire either. Considering your budget, they are as good as anything in that price range. If you want to add another $300 to the $500 you can get into some nice tires, but only you can decide that one.

Re: Which tires should i get.
My father has finally won the camaro was costing to much for us to keep and we have no spot to store it. My garage is filled with my dads 5.0L Mustang and my grandfathers garage can only fit one car so we sold the camaro to a buddy of my father's and now the rims and tires are going on my impala. Sad to see her go but it's what had to be done.

Re: Which tires should i get.
sorry to hear that. for anyone else looking for a new tire, i like the feel of Goodyear Eagle T/A's they grip good, they last okay, and they have lips on the bead that cover the edge of the rim so you dont accidently scratch or dent your rims on the curb.

Actually, I am going to have a set of really wide Proxes 4 put on this afternoon. After much research, and running down a tire sponsor for our group, I decided to go with them instead. Blackwalls will go better with my new rally stripes, too, I think.

Re: Which tires should i get.
New update. I have had the worst possible luck. Me and a buddy were driving home in my Impala and I got T boned by a by a lady who tried to beat a light but ran a red and hit me with her ford aerostar and then pushed the front of my car into a Buick. Me and my buddy got out totally unharmed but the car did not do so well. Both passenger doors are shot both front fenders are bent the passenger A,B and C pillars are bent. The front bumper and bumper fillers are destroyed. But it is such a champ. The aerostar needed to be towed to a shop. Mine started like new with no leaks even all the lights and signals still worked even though sme were out of alinement. I guess it's back to the drawing board or at least the garage and start tear down and the rebuilding process. At least the frame isn't bent.
