I just bought new torq thurst m wheels (http://www.americanracing.com/browse_ar.asp) and now I need some 17 inch tires. I have an 84-Z28 and I don't know how wide of a tire to get (235/245/255)

I also don't know how wide of a sidewall would be best (45/40)

I am trying to stay away from getting a tire w/a sidewall so big it overcrowds the wheel-well

But I've never bought 17'' tires before so I have no clue what will look right

3 questions:

How wide do 235/245's look? Do they stick out a ****-ton?
Ho do your tire sizes look on your own camaros?

 

Dont know what size you got, but a 17x11 will house a 305/35/17 tire in the back and look simply sick. But assuming you at least got the 9 inch wide wheel, a 275/40/17 would do great all the way around. 245 looks like crap on the back. But the front is ok.

 

What size wheel is it 17 x what ? And whats your offset ?

 

The wheel is a 17x8 with a 0 offset. Its a torq thurst wheel.

 

Actually I meant backspacing my bad.

 

not really sure what you mean by when you say backspacing. they said it would just fit perfectly

 

What ever company you bought those rims from should have the backspacing on the paperwork. I would see what that is before you throw tires on the rims.

I believe 4.5-5.5 of BS. But dont take my word on it. Do a search and see what you come up with.
