Rim Sizes
Hey guys. Its been a while I was dealing with rim sizes so I have a question here. I am rebuilding a Camaro 5,7 right now and on the list is a Twin Turbo Kit.
So I need sime big rubber in the back to get the power on the street. I was thinking about 20" rims but I dont know how wide they have to be to fir 315 or 325 tires. Can somebody tell me some rim sizes for those sizes of tires please?
Thank you

Re: Rim Sizes
the sidewall will be so short on a 20" rim , you wont have any real traction.
for that width tire, your looking at something around 11-12" wide, 11 can fit with some minor cutting, the 12's wont without a minitub
to get the power down, you should consider a 15x8 or 10" rim with drag radials

Re: Rim Sizes
Yeah, believe me I thought about that millions of times. I like both versions. Nice looking rims with 20" and drag monster tires on the other hand..
Are there any sites for drag wheels? There are lots og bullshit websites about rims out there

Re: Rim Sizes
what you think about what other people want to do with their cars doesn't interest anybody. that sounds just like the people that say that if somebody wants clear taillights for a camaro, should buy a civic.
be contructive or zip it.

IROCS look the best stock. I wish they made some 17 inch iroc rims though (88-90 style)

Re: Rim Sizes
for you, but not for other people. i am creating a camaro that everybody will want to have when im done. taste is taste. i dont discuss that, especially not in forums where weirdos like travis hang out because they have no friends and feel the need to tell others what they should like and not, because their parents never loved them
back to topic please.

Anyhow, for what your wanting to do...I don't think 20's wheels in the rear wouldn't be your best choice. Like stated above....you wouldn't get much traction with such a low profile tire. You could just have a set of so 16's or something whenever you go to the track...bolt them on a go. Just a thought.

Re: Rim Sizes
yes. i made my decision as u can see in my last post. they might be cheaper too and i have less work on the body. the one big point against 35mm tires is, that i live in puerto rico and one bbig hole or crater can **** up my rims as well. streets can really suck here due the tropical climate.
but i would like to see some pics of your ride. can you show me a link?
