Early BDay present to myself...ZR1 wheels!

Picked these up for $250. Good shape, minor curb rash but Im gonna strip the black off and either paint the wheels silver or polish them so no big deal...Just need tires now!

Close up of one. Going to need to find the correct color of silver and repaint them like GM had them originally...

And of course you need one of these to run the wheels in the back...3.23 limited slip rear end out of a 94 Z28 with 80K. Need to sand this and paint it as well...

Good purchase, I was thinking it was gonna be the newer Zr1 wheels that look horrible on our cars.

Re: Early BDay present to myself...ZR1 wheels!

Was going to use them on my 4th gen but the SS 10 spokes grew on me, so I think if I paint them silver, they will look good on my 91. Just need to find some tires

Good buy. I think those are some of the best looking wheels on a thirdgen, but I'm bias.

Bad *** car bro! Is the outer edge of the lip polished? Looks like mine were, not sure if its supposed to be that way or not. It does have the GM stamp on them though.

Re: Early BDay present to myself...ZR1 wheels!

they are not really polished, but rather machined to a really nice finish and then clear coated. Mine look ok, but the clear is kind of fogging, makes it look less brilliant. But i'm happy with them

Alright, well maybe Ill go to 800 or 1000 grit on the lip and then after I paint the center silver, Ill clear the whole rim.

Basically, the best looking wheel on the 3rdgens if you ask me... although, I really think they look good on any car!

I'm torn between these and the C5 Z06 wheels.

Thanks! I assume spacers were used too, or are those SLP wheels made for Third Gens?

Re: Early BDay present to myself...ZR1 wheels!

Must have spacers, that's the only way to have the flat center cap on a thirdgen. The SLP thirdgen specific wheels have a raised cap.
