Tires for GTA wheels

I figure this is on here a million times, but I can't find it.

I have bought stock 16x8 GTA wheels and am now looking for tires. I really want to know what the stock sizes were and what the largest tires I can run front and back.

I would like to run the same sizes on all 4 corners. Any input or tire suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Tires for GTA wheels

245/50R16 is the stock size. For 16" wheels, 255s are basically the biggest you'll get in a street tire except for the BFG 295s, which won't fit up front.

So 255s is what your limited to.

Re: Tires for GTA wheels

255 will give you a tall looking tire and looks kind of goofy go with 245's.

Not at all..

First off, 255 is only 10 millimeters WIDER (not taller)

And secondly, the aspect ratio (45 or 50) is only a percentage number of the width. So the overall diameter of a 255 vs a 245, for the same aspect ratio, would only increase by 5 millimeters. You'll never notice 5 millimeters in height.

Re: Tires for GTA wheels

I've run 255s on all 4 corners & even the BFG 295/50s on the rear. Loved them all!

Re: Tires for GTA wheels

I appreciate the input! I think I'm going to go with the stock 245s on all 4 just because I like the look and it will be a while before my car gets the mods to really need tires this big. As far as that goes any suggestions on tires or brands? Or ones to avoid? Thanks

Re: Tires for GTA wheels

i really like the look of the nitto 555! the drag radial looks sick and was wondering if i can get a street tire with the exact same tread pattern. i might consider the drag radials but im running a 10bolt rear. im on the fence because its still a mild motor and a weak rear end, but my 3:73 are sweeeeet. Is 555rt avalible in the 245/50/16? or any quality tire with a thick looking design, (looks matter)!

Its no longer a popular size, i wish i had 17'' rims
