I imagine its been asked before but, I didnt really have time to sift through thousands of posts. I have an 89 RS, it has an S-60 everything is adjustable in the back, I plan to run Mickey - ET street's, I have 15x10 draglites with a 5.5 backspace. Does anyone know what the biggest tire I can fit is? I was thinking 28x12.5, but I'm not convinced they will fit maybe 28x 11.5. Anybody have a similar set up that can help? A pic would be great too, I love to see what other people have done!! Mine will be ready for this spring, I'm down to tires, driveshaft, and some misc interior parts!! Thanks

 

You're prolly gonna run into the fender with 28x10.5's on those rims. I think most guys go with 6.5" BS on a 10" rim.

 

i have 28x10.5x15 on 15x10 draglites on my car , will need about a 1.4inch spacer and some inner wheel well hamering along with trimming the front of the inner wheel well on the bottom

 

What backspace? Makes all the difference...

 

Now I'm told that a hoosier QTP in a 27x 11.50 actually has a larger foot print than an ET 28x11.50, or even a 28x12.50 for that matter.

Hoosier 27x11.5 =10"tread width
MT ET street 28x11.5=8.6 tread width
MT ET street 28x 12.5=9.9 tread width

This is a pain in the a**. I dont mind a little "massaging" the inners, but I dont want to cut anything outside. I'm ok with spacers, but I dont really want the tires out past the lip.

 

I ran 28x10.5 ET slicks on a 15x10" rim with 5" of BS. No clearance issues.

 

opps i thought i put it 5.5 and the spacer i use is 1/4inch thick not 1.4 i hate replying from my dam cellphone

 

 

Wow, I run a 15x8 5.5" BS with 26x11.5" ET streets and just a little massaging of the inner fender. I wonder how much the rim width affects the actual tread width when they're mounted...

 

I found a good deal on some 29x9 hoosier drags, I put them on my 10" rim with 5.5 backspace they fit no problem with the exception of the rear caliper. I had to run a spacer because the wheel hit. (4th gen disc brakes on a 3rd gen s-60.)
