New 19" Wheel Fitment
I'm looking at purchasing a set of wheels and am needing some advice on the fitment. The front is 19x8.5 with +46 offset and the back is 19x10 with +48 offset. I'm running a rearend from a 97 transam. Will I need spacers all the way around or just the front? I plan on running 245-35/19 and 295-30/19 tires.

Re: New 19" Wheel Fitment
What size for the front, 2"?. With that offset and 97 rearend will the back wheels stick out past the fenders?

Re: New 19" Wheel Fitment
I'm going to suggest (if possible) that you pick up (4) 10" wide wheels so you can run a 275 (or 285 all around).

Re: New 19" Wheel Fitment
I'm running 17x9.5 with 285-40/17 on my IROC-Z with a stock rear. Im looking for my RS and it has a 4th gen rear with 19's and 245-35/19. I need tires but am thinking about getting different wheels which I found on craigslist for a good price and new tires. Im also thinking about trying to go 11" wide and going back down to 17's or 18's but Im not sure on the backspacing to fit a 11" wide wheel with a 4th gen rear and keep the wheel tucked.

Re: New 19" Wheel Fitment
Can anyone help me with the correct backspace / offset to run with the 4th gen rear to get as wide as possible and still stay tucked? I would like to get a good size lip on the back. Right now all 4 wheels are the same size without any lip and Im running spacers up front

Re: New 19" Wheel Fitment
Can anyone help me with the offset/ backspacing? Would 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 with 35mm offset on both work with the 4th gen rear and spacers up front??

Re: New 19" Wheel Fitment
I have a question on this subject. i have a 91 firebird that i am restoring and recently put a set of the yearone snowflakes with 275/40/17's up front, others with these rims have posted they would fit. They are rubbing like crazy and even hitting the frame at full lock. the guy that is doing the work is pretty good but not necessarily a third gen expert. it has a new front end and new suspension and has been lowered. he has tried multiple spacers and nothing works. he looked up the wheel, which is made for 2nd gen, and he believes this is the issue. any suggestions? will 245's solve? raise it back up?

Re: New 19" Wheel Fitment
My options are 19x8.5 with 35-38-40 or 45 offset for the front and 19x9.5 with 35-40-45 or 48 for the rear. Im looking to get the most lip on the rear without sticking out past the fenders and I have a 4th gen rear from a 97 firebird. I want to try and run 255-35/19 front and 295-30/19 back.

Re: New 19" Wheel Fitment
I also already have a set of 1.5" spacers that I can use for the front if needed.

Is anyone running a 295-30/19 with 4th gen rear. If so, what size wheel and backspacing / offset?

Re: New 19" Wheel Fitment
I run 19x8.5 ET15 and 19x9.5ET20s they do not stick out, in fact the front could take even less offset and this is with a brake upgrade pushing the hub face outboard. Adjust for the rear axle you have, fronts should be spot on. ETs in the 40s require spacers.
I have a 295/30/19 in the rear but not a 4th gen axle, however with the correct wheel offset it's not a problem. I run 265s in the front and next time I would go 275 front and 315 rear...I think I can make that fit without a problem.

Re: New 19" Wheel Fitment
I run 285-40/17 on a 9.5 with 5.5 backspacing on my 3rd gen rear without any issues. So I need to run 17x9.5 with 7 1/2 backspacing with the 4th gen rear since its 2 inches wider?

Re: New 19" Wheel Fitment
it's 1" per side... so 6.5BS although that really sounds like a lot. On a 9.5 wide rim that's about 1.5" of offset (it's actually not accurate since rim width and offset take different dimensions off a rim, one the rim edge and the other the tire bead)
This is a pic of the 19s in the sizes I listed. I run Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas and they are a little on the narrow side for 295s, I swear the old Good Year 295s I had were wider/

Re: New 19" Wheel Fitment
Whats the specs on those wheels? Is that a 3rd gen or 4th gen rear? Some sites offer offset and some offer backspacing numbers. And some have both. Im just not real clear on what to go with on the 4th gen rear.

Re: New 19" Wheel Fitment
Sorry, I noticed you listed the specs above. So if I wanted to run that same setup I would just do it with a 1" of extra backspacing since I have the 4th gen rear?

Re: New 19" Wheel Fitment
eibach sportlines, no fitment issues, doesn't rub. Frt has C5 calper conversion. I will do a Z06 caliper soon, need to bring the wheel out 1cm for that, will see if it rubs on full lock then
