92 Z28-Recommendations for rims similiar to stock Iroc's but wider than 8"

It's time for some new wheels and tires for my 92 Z28 Convertible. I never have cared for the factory Z28 wheels and have always liked the Iroc wheels. I would like to stay as close to a stock looking Iroc wheel as possible. I am open to 16, 17 or 18" wheels and was thinking of running 245's on front and 275's on back as I don't want to have to modify my setup (stock) to run them.

I know AR makes Iroc replacements but they max out at 8" wide or 245's all the way around. I would like a nice polished look over chrome but could go either way. Also would love it if they had some concave to them. Not looking to spend more than $500/wheel.

Any recommendations on brands and where to buy them. I will be buying new tires as well, most likely BFG Comp II's.

Thanks

I'm not aware of any ready to fit IROC wheels other than 8" wide.

Now you could widen a pair to 9.5" for about $400 a pair or so.

I have heard mixed reviews on widening rims. I can get a nice set of 87 irocs for around $150, polish them up and send them out to weld craft, was hoping there was some wheels that were close to original with the five spokes

Problem with the OEM 16" wheels is the lack of tires available in 245-50-16 or wider. The only tire I think is decent is the BFG G-force sports in that size. Definitely look into a 17" (or larger wheel).

Just an option.

They're basically more stock looking Ronal R15's to me. I think I'd scuff em down a little bit to take some of that shine off of them, though.

While they aren't really IROC wheels, I will give a plug for Paul Huryk's wheels. A direct fit 17x9.5 with gargantuan space for big brakes. They seem to be an acquired taste. Nobody (myself included) seems to like them at first. But they have a way of growing on you. Now I find them tasteful and more to the point, something different looking.

Paul does a good job in not ramming advertising down people's throat. But since I have no connection whatsoever with him (aside from being a member on TGO like everybody else), I'd say give it a thought. Cost and pictures are on his website.
