255/35/19 on all four corners?

Haven't found any threads with this tire combo on 3rd gens, is it possible without rubbing if I get the perfect backspacing or do I have to do mods in the front to make this work? My original tire is 215/65/15 so the tire height is the same at 26"

Also planing on lowering about 2" with GC's weight jacks so I would be able to do some height adjustments.

The tire should be used on a 8.5" wheel, 9" would work to I suppose. Use 5" of back spacing with stock brakes with the 9" wheel or with the 8.5 with a brake upgrade. Use 4.75 if available for the stock brakes and the 8.5" wheel. 5.25" of BS if available with the 9" and a brake upgrade.

If the brake upgrade used the 1le hubs, then add .5 to the stock brake measurement instead of .25"

I would use a 18" wheel personally, 19's start to look like rubber bands and the ride quality will be poor. Also unless things have changed, 19's are a lot more than a similar sized 18

Re: 255/35/19 on all four corners?

Ideally I would like a bit more tire aswell 275/35/19 I think would look decent, but regarding the height of the tire I thought 255 would be more realistic since I don't want any rubbing. I haven't seen any posts where anyone has put a 26"+ tire in the front.

I have four 19X9.5 et18 lying around and If I could make that work for now I would like to try that, but I think 255 is the lowest I'm willing to go, 245 on 9.5 also gives a little stretch wich I don't like.

Do you think I could go bigger or is 255 already pushing it on the front with 19s?

I am considering 18s but since I already got the 19s I am a little curious how it would look.

Currently stock rotors and drums, but there is a 10-15 ss conversion in the horizon, front and rear.

Thanks for helping me out

A 275 fits very well on the front in a 9.5" wheel.

I've run a tire slightly taller than 26" up front and it was fine.

Re: 255/35/19 on all four corners?

//<86TA>\\ could you help me with my wheel setup? I'm looking at 19x8.5 w/ 255/35/19 up front and 19/9.5 w/ 275/35/19 on the rear. I think I'm fine there but what I'm more having trouble with is offset and hub size. Fronts have 35mm offset and rears have 40mm offset. Based on my calculations, I think I need 1.5" adaptors. That said, I'm also putting ZL1 Brembos on the car at the same time so does this change all my measurements?

The other issue is hub. The wheels have a 72.5mm hub. Will an 70.5mm adaptor work or do I need to find an adaptor that has a 70.5mm hub bore with a 72.5mm hub ring? If so, I am having a hard time finding a set. Let me know if you think this setup works.

Alright! was your car lowered and did you have to roll your fenders?

265/35/19 is 26.3" tall and 275 is 26.6" what do you think? the more the better, but is it gone fit?

thanks again much appreciated.

Don't go any higher than 26" up front. Mine were 26.1 and rubben the plastic liners when turning. 26.3 might start hitting sheet metal.

Also keep in mind, the actual size of the tire may vary from the advertised sizes, so the wheel might be shorter, or taller than what you think and can get you in trouble

Are you sure they are not 72.6? That's a common BMW hub size and might be easier to find. I know you can get hubcentric rings for 70.3-72.6, I have a set. They can be used to adapt the wheel to a 70.3 hubcentric adapter.

Your maths seem like it will work as far as offset. IDK what hub the ZL1 conversion uses so I can't comment on that aspect.

Are the wheels 5x4.75 or 5x120? They sound like BMW wheels so if they are be sure to get them with the proper pattern on each side to match the car and the wheel.

Thanks for your response. The wheels I was considering are 5x4.75 (5x120.65). That said, I decided on a different set that are 70.3 hub so solves the whole adaptor problem. The new set also have a wider width so I was thinking of putting 295/30/19 on the rear. This would put the front and rear at exactly 26" tall which from what you said above, is the limit of height I should consider.

The ZL1 conversion also uses a 70.3 hub. I have to use an adapter to get the necessary spoke clearance though. Will use 2" on the front and 1" on the rear for the new setup I'm looking at.

i stand corrected. I checked on the actual manufacturer's website and they are 5x120. Should know better than to trust one of those bulk sites.
