cheaper alternative to LPE 219

Edelbrock just released a new hydraulic roller

PN 2108
218/218 @ .050
.525/.525 lift with 1.5 rockers
112 lobe sep
112 intake centerline
Valve events:
IO 3 ATDC
IC 41 ABDC
EO 41 BBDC
EC 3 BTDC

Anyone have actual valve events for the LPE 219 for comparison?

With E-Tec 170 heads and a Performer RPM intake on a ZZ4 shortblock this cam makes 435 hp/435 ft-lbs....but it seems like it would work well with TPI motors as well. The Edelbrock cam is $249 from Summit, vs $339 for the LPE 219.

For TPI I would go with the ZZ9 or Lingenfelters 211 cam.

what's weird is that the 2 cam cards show different timing events. When did they change and from what to what?

I punched in the cams in DD2000 and the one on Ebay made more power to 5000 rpm and then dropped off compared to this one.

Seems to me the other timing events work better for street cars.

The $250 Ebay cam has Parkerized roller lobes, not billet. Also the nose pin is the short variety. LPE starting selling them about a year ago.

I purchased and then returned the cheaper cam to LPE because of the difference in stats. I wanted the real-deal 219.

Rick Neuenschwander <rneuenschwander@lingenfelter.com> wrote: Hello Robert

I recieved the fax and the lobe lift on ebay is a typing error on my part. The difference on the duration is just that I rounded the cam machine spec from 218.5 to 219 instead of 218.5 to 218. The actual lobe lift is .350 that is .525 with 1.5 and .560 with 1.6 rocker arms. I have attached a copy of what I send with my camshaft. Hope that this helps.

This is what Rick from LPE emailed me when I asked about the Duration difference.

Likely you are correct, I very well may be wrong.

Been some time since I checked, I run 1.6 which bumps it up a bit anyway.

PMed You..................
