Anyone have a manual on a SBC(Except 305s)? Come in...

Can you explain your setup, and what modifications you had to do?

Thanks

I have a T-56 with my 2-piece RMS 305; used to have a 400 with the T-5 that came in the car (83 model), and then later with a 91 T-5.

Like ede, I've had about a dozen cars over the years with manual transmissions; mostly 4-speeds, about half & half big blocks & small blocks, in the Chevrolets I've had. Even a few other brands besides GM.

What are you trying to find out?

Chronology is like this:

1983 - 2002: L69 and T5

2002-2005: 350 and T5

2005 - ? : 350 and Super T10

No modifications needed for any of these, but I will be making a set of NASCAR-style shifter rods for the ST10. If you dont know them, heres a pic. They are solid rods, and have heim joints on either end to take all the slack out of the linkage. It will also be getting a Hurst shifter. I've been told that the one for a '63-67 Corvette is what I need?

I had a Tremec TKO, Lakewood safety bellhousing, SPEC stage III clutch assembly, with a 10 lb aluminum flywheel. Modifications: the driveshaft has to be shortened, good time to upgrade the u- joints, and to increase the tube size to 3". The Tremec sits in the car differently than a T-5, or 700R4. You can use the spacer blocks that the Tremec dealers provide, or modify your crossmember, so you dont need the spacers. This is a must if you plan on using the Mufflex "Y" pipes as I had. The bellhousing was "dialed in" within the .005 allowable specs. for proper input shaft alignment. (mine was out big time). All this backed a 436 EFI SBC. Now the transmission of choice is a fresh 700R4.

in my 82 berli I have a 327 with the stock 4 sp ****ty saginaw. Only reason why it is probably not blown out is I can't drive my car much cuz i get to many tickets. 404 rwhp on a saginaw will ruin it real quick im sure if you drive it enough

stock non-World Class T5 from an 87 on an 355 TPI, but I didn't drive it for more than a week before deciding to go HSR. I'm in the middle of installing that right now.

Im running a manual and auto all in one. Best of both worlds. It down shifts from overdrive to a 1 to 1 ratio when you nail the thrittle to the floor. Feels just like an auto shifting into passing gear. Plus you manually down shift the super t10 for a second gear reduction and its all smiles from there . You dont want to know the amont of mods it took to install.

THATS RIGHT....I goofed. I actually had mine shortened to accommodate the Currie 9in. Not the Tremec. Thanks for bringing that up....
