never ordering from thirdgen resource again!

so i place an order online with thirdgen resource for Spohn's T56 conversion crossmember on the 21st of january. i emailed stacy of thirdgenresource a few days later to ask for a tracking #. she said the order was placed but is dropped shipped from the manufacturer, takes about 2 weeks... ok whatever, i can wait i guess. well just last night, i called stacy again to see if they had a tracking number for me. nope she said, spohn just moved into a new building and is a little behind, call back next week and we should have a tracking number. ugh! so i email up spohn (offices were closed) and i email the sales guy and ask about my order. he writes back... "They just faxed us your order tonight. They are in stock, so it should ship out tommorow or Friday. Thanks." WTF?! did it take 2 weeks for thirdgen resource to fax them my order or what!? total bs... the only reason i ordered it from them is cuz it is 10bucks cheaper than anywhere else... but i assure you that will be the last time i order anything from them wether or not they got something 100bucks cheaper than the rest.

the swap will be done this weekend EXCEPT for the crossmember that any other company would have had at my door a week ago

sorry to hear that you've had such an issue..

i was originally going to ask if you had called your order in, because i've read in past posts here that it's a better way of making sure your order goes through.

i can't say for sure though, because i've never ordered anything from them. when i start ordering parts, i'll probably just order direct from spohn.

one of my friends goes by the name of "quick trans am" here. he bought his engine and transmission from them. last i knew, he seemed pleased with their service.

regardless, best of luck.

Ya know, every other day someone posts about how bad these guys are. I learned my lesson a LONG time ago. Three times I did business, 3 times I had problems.....

...I normally don't even bother responding to these anymore, but problems like this just **** me off. To straight up lie to your customer is too much. This site is bar none the #1 thirdgen site on the web, and why we post a banner for TGR is beyond me. Sponsorship...sure, I know, but in this case, we owe it to fellow thirdgenners NOT to endorse TGR. By posting their banner, we encourage fellow thirdgenners to use them. In my 28 years alive, I've never seen such dissatisfaction with a business that some how stays in business.

Being from NC, and because I know several people who are friends of TGR, I want to say that the folks over at TGR are genuinely nice people. I have nothing negative to say about them personally, and they are actually very friendly and quick to say hello when you visit them at a show. It's almost as if they're not the ones actually involved with these problems. They are good people, just maybe not good businessmen.

I'm not angry, and I won't start namecalling. I've seen a few occasions when I think that we as TGO members almost try to jump on the "bash TGR" bandwagon. Those instances aside, there are just SOOOO many negative business dealings with thirdgen resource. I'd gladly discuss my THREE bad dealings, but that's nothing compared to everyone else. All yo have to do is to use the search tool.

Like I said, my business with them is long since taken care of, so I'm not mad anymore, and I'm not looking to make anyone mad. Heck, there so close to me, it's a shame not to do business with them. Nothing would make me happier than to cruise down on a Saturday, and buy parts.

Is anyone from Thirdgenresource still here on TGO? What's the deal guys? Did you actually tell Flyersman29 that it was Spohn's fault? Is Flyersman29 not being honest? ...or maybe Spohn? I'm grasping at straws here, I WANT to do business...WE ALL want to do business....what gives?

I'm sorry for the rant....and I don't mean to offend anyone...I'm just tired of these posts about TGR over and over and over and over.

I have gotten very crappy service from them. I have ordered things from them and they say that the order never went through or they have no record. I ordered new door panels from them and they sent me the wrong ones. I order the 87 door panel and they sent me ones for an 85. The whole reason I ordered 87 ones is because I don't like the styling on my 85 ones. Also I wanted carpet and velour instead of vinyl. But whatever I put them on anyways because I didn't want to wait another 3 months for the right ones.

thirdgen resucks

Ok, i am from switzerland and i ordered twice. That's what they do: The day after i ordered, my creditcard got charged. Then, 2 to 3 months(!) later, i received the stuff. They do NOT answer e-mail, you have to call them. I do not recommend them at all. If you need parts, get them from Hawks or spohn or summit.

Third Gen Resources sucks. Period. There is 10-12 seperate threads about how much they suck just in the past 6 months. Each thread is filled with dissatisfied customers. I started an anti-TGR thread myself. Theyhave screwed me around several times. They lie to customers, steal money from customers, cheat customers, the works! Nobody likes that f*cking poor excuse for a company. Everybody that has ever ordered from them has beed jerked around.

The crap that Third Gen Resources pull is amazing. They are real quick to take your money, but have fun getting your parts. If you are lucky enough to get parts from them, it's probably the wrong stuff. Even though you do the ordering, they decide what it is that you actually want, and send that to you, not what you had ordered.

Third Gen Resources sucks!

I went to there site and saw they have about everything so I figured Id try and order from one place to get all my stuff and that way Id know that it will all come about the same time, well as soon as I got done asking questions and they were real good about making it seem like there totally out to help you....well as soon as I ordered the stuff and 5 minutes later email them (which they were only about 1minute to answer an email when they thought they had a new customer)and they never answerd again after that order had gone through! I am still pissed because there just like a car dealer...reel you in till you sign your order then its see-yaaaaa they dont give a sweet $hit if your happy or not! first and last time I deal with them I think everyone in there needs a --->

Ugh. I dont even want to type out my entire lousy experience that i had with them. Search for my uder name, im sure youll find the posts (yes, multiple) from this forum.

Not only did they send my order slower than mollasses rolling uphil in February Frost, but when it got there, it was parts off of a DIFFERENT car than the one i ordered, the bumper was MANGLED, and they said "thats what you get, used is used."

Not only is that what they said, but they said it with a **** poor attitude. Theres plenty of vendors out there willing to provide me with parts and service with a smile.

TGR was too busy taking my money to build his damn LS1 project, and didnt have time to provide decent customer service. Screw them.

Screw it, typed it out: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=217871
