So how cheasy is it???

So how cheasy is it???

You will have gotothe original thread to see the pics but here is what I did.

"I figure the boot with cover most to half of the chrome piece. This was a shifter I got with my trans, it had been cut clean off where the stock two piece one went together.

Still has / uses the stock bend in the bar towards the drive and I added on about a piece of 4 inch pipe. Cutoff a piece of chrome pipe to cover the weld and finish it off clean. The handle is a side grip for a drill I never used. Cut the bolt off the top flat and ever.

I had it in the vise jerking it around through the gears. Feels solid.

Of course it could end up working like crap, but I had some free time and threw something together.

But it feels real comfy and solid. "

I've seen a lot worse on a Camaro with a TH350. Like a strap of steel driven through a
hole in the tunnel with a 3/16"? rod from an old screen door bent
to go between the shift lever and the strap. The owner couldn't figure out why he had trouble finding the gears!!

OK so it didn't work out, so I made me a retro funky shifter that has little function but lots of style. Just need to grind some welds and get it gold plated. It has a nice T handle grip and I call it the

G Money Special [shifter]

Ill be taking orders over the holidays

Its sure to be tops with the ladies.

I'm not really the gold kind of guy but Ill get it installed early tomorrow and go cruise for chicks. Ill try and get some action photo's and results. The next guy to pull next to me in a pick up is gonna lose it.

Its kinda neat. Wish I had a few old cut off shifters to play around with. Maybe a nice swoopy one with a chrome skull.

what on earth, how far is the throw on that thing, would it hit you when you put it in 2nd, or punch you passenger when going to reverse?

Man did my retro shifter work out sweet as heck. Its actually a short throw shifter too. 1-2 is about half the distance as it was before. It has smooth solid action with that retro feel and quicker shifts, hahahahaha

Ya I'm good.

Heh, thats creative man .. i only like the big shifters like that for bench seats. If that shifter really cuts the throw in half good lord .. the stock throw must be huge. The standard thirdgen i had was a 4speed with a hurst and it was super short throw with positive as hell shifts. Anyone have pictures of the throw of a stock 5 speed shifter in 1st and second?

The bottom most of the shifter up to the start of the $ is in the stock position. so draw a line up and there is a good 3 1/2 - 4 in difference.

well thinking of it that way its the same amount of throw.just brings your hand closer to the dash. You may not have to go back as far but you need to push it up further.

Looking at most of the shifter you can get they all seam to do that. [move the sifter up.] I think myself it is the down shift that is the easy one to miss, it goes so far back.

I drove around for a while and it was cool. Only neutral is uncomfortable. I have a real lazy foot and wasn't thumping into gear, it was smoother.

I would say its like putting ape hanger on a HD. No real reason but its neat.

I like to thank my sponsor G Money products.

Cause when the ladies see them they think
" Gee??? he must have money!"

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW, tears are rollin big time from LOL!!!! Seein the pics of the "shifter" was one thing, seeing that thing installed is definately quite another. Dude, if you want to live longer, do not allow guys in big 4x4's or semis to roll up next to you and see that "thing" as they'll most likely swerve into you from laughing. This made my day, thanks

WHAT?! HAHA that is the single most ghetto thing I have ever seen. Get some plush velvet interior, green paint, and some gold rims for that Gd up ride. Green for the money and gold for the honeys...

that is funny...

if all else fails, u can take the shifter out n beat someone with it..

You can tell the newbies that its a shifter out of a jet airplane (a pimpish german one =]) and say it adds another 50 horsepower..

very creative, i'll give you that

As cheasy as it does look. I have had fun driving around the past two days. Ive been racing everywhere avoiding the quicker routes so I can shift more. It has great action and feel.

Its been a blast. Maybe I could sell a few on ebay.

That, honestly, is one of the most stupidest things I have ever seen.

... Yea, I know I used improper English. It was the only way to really emphasize how stupid it looks. WTF? Is someone suppose to look at that say "money"?

Don't forget to get a can of Gold spray paint and spray paint it gold before applying the diamond studs. Better yet - Mask it off and pait the dollar sign green and the rest gold. THEN apply the diamond studs. That would be ... well ... that would be money.

Gay.

Dude..............

You must have been bored to DEATH! You forgot the gold spray on the $ to add the "bling bling" factor. You must have been eating fried chicken and drinking 40 oz. bottles of Shlitz malt liquor when you came up with that idea!

Oh well, at least it's original.......LOL

Thanks for the amusement!

Some of you guys took him wayyy to seriously. He wanted a laugh and he got one. It's not like he's taking it to car shows with the Bling Bling ultra-shifter installed.

That is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. You deserve a pat on the back for that one. My day at work is a little less boring now.

List of things to do tonight... make a steering wheel that looks like a cent sign.

OK, so I cut the money sign off and finished my pro 5.0 clone. it helped though using the funky shifter for a while. I got the shape and size right this time around.

3rd times a charm.

Course it still the stock base,
no shift stops but cheap cheap cheap.
