Well this post has grown. That car in auto trader just came up a week ago I believe. Its probably a 305 mistaken as a 350 or someone swapped engines(look at the mods that it lists). Is this hacked? Maybe its genuine. But it wasnt available in 1999 when I bought my car and it wasnt available when I was modifying mine as well. Plus a 91/92 model w/roofs would have only met a portion of the mods that I wanted on the car that my car has now. I just set it up the way I would have liked the factory to have optioned it. Take care everyone, STEVE Z
91B2L,
What are you talking about. How could someone remember me from last year. I just signed up on this site in June. I have never posted prior to June. I have read a lot of stuff on here but never posted before. Good arguement though.

LOL:sillylol: You crack me up. Hey what does probation mean?
RedBird,
Probabation means if I do something wrong they will kick me off. What did I do wrong. All I did was point out that 91B2L made no sense. What is so wrong with that. I am supposed to sit back and not point out inconstencies either?

Well you can say what you want without cursing. But if someone gets thire panties in a wad its time to leave them alone. It might be funny to poke at them....hehe which I'm sure we all are guilty of at one point of time but it starts flame wars. Hey I dont mind I like reading flamed threads but the moderators apparently dont like it.

I only have a few posts to my credit too, but I have an opinion on this. SLZ's car is HIS car, he should do whatever makes him happy. MeanV8's car is HIS car, he should do or not do whatever he wants to. That's why we all buy things, because that is what we want to do. Wouldn't it suck if everyone was sportin' the exact same thing. We all need variety. As far a hacked cars lowering the value of your car MeanV8, actually hacked cars really make a perfect car shine that much brighter, in my humble opinion. I'm not loaded or anything like that, but I'm doing ok and I think that some aftermarket parts are just too expensive for what they are (torque arms come to mind) and you can build one yourself AND save some money, well then, I say go for it.
For everyone who didn't like MeanV8's opinion, SLZ asked what we thought and MeanV8 answered honestly as to how he felt. That is fine with me. As for hack jobs, my car WILL be hacked or as far as I'm concerned I failed at what I set out to do. I've got all kinds of plans for my GTA, and I don't care if anyone doesn't like it. It's my car, my money, my time and it's me who has to drive the damned thing. My brother's car is probably hacked too (C4 IRS, LS1, 6Speed, coil-overs up front, roll cage...oh yeah, it's all hacked baby).
I have driven a couple TTA's, they are fast as hell, but my Bro's car smokes them. I have a long time friend who has a TTA with 20k on it. Yes it's extremely nice, yes it's fast, yes it's valuable, yes it's stock, but there are nicer, faster, and more valuable cars out there. He knows it, I know it and YOU know it too. Sorry that may offend you MeanV8, but the simple fact is, you do not have the nicest, fastest or most valuable car out there, neither do I (hell mine barely has paint on the spoiler). Deal with it. As far as everyone jumping on you, some feel that is what needs to be done when someone is abrasive to them, I am glad to see that you aren't afraid to give an honest opinion when asked for it.
Here is mine about your car. As far as your car's value, you're right.....on paper. I'll keep my 'hacked' '87 GTA and not feel guilty about making it what I want it to be. I wouldn't give you a squirt of **** for your TTA.

Maybe my standards are just higher than the rest of you. Obviously, I am clearly driving a better, faster, and more valuable car

Now, GTA-SPD puts together a very well thought out arguement. He makes good points. I have no problem with what he had to say even if it was negative toward me because it was done constructively. It is the people who feel the need to use name calling as their form of communication that are pathetic. I will leave everyone with one final thought. I know my car is not the greatest thing on earth! Everyone should just enjoy their cars, that is what they are for. I will remember to keep my opinions to myself because some people just can't handle them.

Actually "HACKING" is very big business and has been a part of the American automotive mindset for a very ling time. It's called "hotrodding" . A little bit of it lives in all of us.

MeanV8, let me make it clear. From what I remember about ONE-EYE-JACK, he was a member about a year ago that made smart-a$$, rude coments about other f-bodys, even when noone asked his opinion. Finally, other members thrashed him so bad that he left. DO NOT be a ONE-EYED-JACK.
Yeah exactly, I mean is it just me or is this meanv8 guy just a real piece of shi#? A guy (SLZ) builds up a car that he's proud enough of to show to his freinds, and all you want to do is shoot him down. Sounds to me like you've never worked hard enough to know what it's like to EARN something. I spent two years building my first car. Nothing fancy, I'm sure it wasn't "worthy" of your collection. It wasn't a highly valued car, but I learned alot making it, and I had a lot of fun building it. I think SLZ had fun and learned something from building his car. Something I'm sure you would know nothing about. Grow up.
wow this board is one crazy som'bitch... i like it... i have only seen a tta once...and some tight wad was drivin it... he also had several other high priced cars... i belie viper and vette were in the convo.... so when i see a TTA i think... a$$hole... not sayin none of u guys are a$$holes... its just a mind thing... thats all... i like TTA's and GN i wish this guy would sell his GN.... hes got all this stuff that he did to play with the boost... i dont understand it... he talks to me about wastegates and blow off valves and then OH NO, IVE GONE CROSS-EYED.... my mind does a dance when people talk about boost:lala: :lala: anyway...good luck to the TTA people... bow down to the fastest of the fast!!:hail:
I was really hoping to be done with this post. I don't see it going anywhere constructive anymore. But, ORIGINAL's post required a response. See, when GTA-SPD made his post and executed a very well thought out opinion I felt it was OK to be done here. He had negative things to say about me. But, being a mature person I can handle them. It is his OPINION! It is only an OPINION. He didn't commit murder, he didn't sleep with my wife, he didn't steal my car, he just gave an OPINION. That is all I did with SLZ and he was fine with it. If you open yourself up to a forum of people like this do you think everyone will like you or agree with you? I don't. Someone said it earlier that everyone's taste is different and that is what makes all our cars different. If everyone's OPINION was the same it would be a boring world.
ORIGINAL- You make a judgement about me personally without knowing anything about me. I made a judgement about SLZ's car only. I made it based on a picture he displayed of his own free will. he was asking for people's OPINIONS. You think I didn't work hard for anything because I have nice cars and standards. If you must know, I busted my butt working 40 hours a week while going to college full time just so i could say I had a college degree. I did it on my own, with no help from my parents. I have been out of college for a few years now and I still have the $500/month student loan payments to show for it. I went through this work for 5 yrs, yes it took my 5 yrs to do, because I wanted to be able to do all the stuff I wanted to do. I have always loved cars and wanted to be able to buy as many as I wanted. I set high standards for myself so if that makes me a snob so be it.
All I have done is make an OPINION on a car you don't own. I didn't personally attack anybody on here. Everyone has attacked me though and they don't know a damn thing about me. I guess if I go on to get my MBA and make that much more money then I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth right?

Why would someone with a TTA V6 be called MeanV8? How would they not ever heard of SLP's dual cold air intake or no if it is functional? How come they can't come up with a picture of there car? I bought a cheap digital pen camera for $10 that can post pics on the computer. Works hard all day to maintain his lifestyle?

If I were to take a guess on which car you like best I would have to say it is the Puerto Rican looking one with the big hood scoops. Am I suppose to be impressed.
So, for all you guys that buy your $500 pieces of junk and spend hours to fix them up to look like $1000 pieces of junk, who are unemployed and can spend all day on your computers I should model my life after you guys right? Take your pathetic arguements and go impress you white trash girlfriends!

Let's recap ... shall we?
"All I did was give an opinion and people didn't like it so they attack me and cal me names and now want to lock the thread."
Third post you make: "Oh by the way. My mentally disabled aunt is looking for a new car, is that Sebring for sale?"
"If I were to take a guess on which car you like best I would have to say it is the Puerto Rican looking one with the big hood scoops."
Might be a little more than the opinion that set people off. I believe that comment might qualify as racial stereotyping. Do all Puerto Ricans drive ugly cars with big hood scoops? I wonder if Alex Rodriguez and his $25.2 million per year salary would agree with that statement.
"I just get aggravated when I see people piecing together cars because when they are on the road it makes the rest of ours less valuable. "
Actually, if you look at the supply side of things, your car would go up in value because it is all original. The other cars are not as valueable because the value lies in the original factory condition. Now, throw in demand. Should demand go up for these cars then your car would be worth even more money.
Let's move on.
"Obviously, I am clearly driving a better, faster, and more valuable car."
This is not so obvious to some of us. Some like to see for ourselves. We see no time sheet. We see no mod list. We see no picture. We see no substance. Your car could have only 17,000 miles on it because it was wrecked and sits on the side of the house. How is it so obvious to us who cannot judge for ourselves?
And then:
"My cars are for my enjoyment. "
So, as long as a car is kept to stock spec or modded with the "proper" licensed mods, the owner may enjoy it? Or maybe you are the only one who is allowed to enjoy his car? Or are some of us not enjoying our cars the right way? If my car has 75,000 miles on it am I enjoying it too much?
To conclude, I agree that many people attacked you for voicing your opinion but not without reason. Your initial criticism did come off a bit harsh and it does hurt when someone has put a lot of time and effort into a project like this. A simple "nice but I prefer stock myself" would have sufficed. You could have even passed up on commenting knowing full well it would be ill recieved. I think a more diplomatic approach would have worked a little better. You seem to be an articulate fellow with some valueable knowledge and a keen sense of sight. It would be a shame to lose an experienced modder with some useful insight and information because he tends to step on toes when lending that insight.
Just a suggestion ... tone it down a little. People here are generally easy to get along with. The others ... we just avoid.

Ya this must be the funniest thread I've ever seen here.
.
But when you have people like meanV8 spittin **** and his
,then people doin the same just in a more intelligent manner it get long and drawn out.Ya my car is a hack but I promise it will be nice when I'm done.
But it'll be original. '87 base model bird with Trans am body with '92 areowing and of course black with NO T-tops,base hood and trans am rims.
But I will still keep the LG4 until it blows up.
I won't go into the future mod list but it will have some ***** hopefully. I think my car will will look awesome when I'm done with all the bodywork which I do myself and the mechanical end of the project will be sweet too.BLAH,BLAH,BLAH.
Now this is more than a hack job...... It's butchery! Nice car SLZ!

Gotta love those rigged up bracket I have made for the power steering cause I got headers now and I needed custom brackets.
that lower silver one was the A/C and P/S bracket but I did some crafty cutting.

Based on how this whole thread has gone I am sure this will be a mistake.
I have said this before, I don't agree with MeanV8's method of voicing his opinion but I do feel he has a right to say what he wants. He voices his opinion and he ends up on probation. That is fine, if a moderator feels he should be on probation then so be it.
But, when someone like thelg4whore goes out of his way to make a sign saying "Meanv8 blow me" I question who should really be on probation. MeanV8 was rude about his comments but he didn't make up signs!!! People said he only had 12 posts so he knew nothing. Well, thelg4whore is a senior memeber and he behaves that way? The whole thing is getting stupid.
