Here's a picture that Doug Flynn emailed to me. It's a polished stealth ram installed into an otherwise bone stock 92 Camaro L98.

I think if you slam the hood a few times it will shut, it looks good though.

It would be nice to know how well it runs.

It certainly does look good. It HAS to be better than TPI for power. I figure somewhere in between a Superram and Miniram based on the runner length.

Questions:

1) I thought these intakes were for pre-87 engines? Its obvious that this is 87-up. Did the installer grind out the center holes or what?

2) Whats the butt dyno say???

The hood closes and doesn't rub even under engine torque. That was the whole point to this project. And for those looking for power numbers, that's all listed in another post.

I know how much the fuel rails and intake cost. How much is the plenum and the throttle body.

Well, if you know how much the intake costs, you know how much the plenum costs. It comes with the plenum. The TB you can use your stock one or spend whatever on an aftermarket one, ~300-400.

Looks great but does it fit under the hood of a firebird? I'm guessing not.

So this will fit without any mods? I can just put it on like swaping out a new base and runners(except of course this has a new plenum)? Would it happen to work on an '87 LB9 with MAF?

Yeah itll work, youll just need to modify the center intake holes from the 86 style to fit the 87-up style.

Do the fuel rails come with it, too? If not, how much are they?

I'm guessing since the MAP sensor's hanging loose out in the middle of nowhere that the stealthram has no provisions for mounting it. Not a big deal. You could just get a MAP bracket from a TBI car and maybe extend the wires.

One piece of good news, it looks like they made getting at the T-stat easier than a stock unit.

Hey guys,
Here's the deal,

Here are the parts we needed to install this.

-Used a 85 Camaro Carbureted upper radiator hose (Dayco 71028) (trimmed the ends back)
- Use a std. small block Chevy waterneck (Mr. Gasket PN 2661)
-Two 1/4" x 1/8"NPT straight barb fittings (rear of intake, MAP sensor and other items, I run only one line to MAP)
-One 3/8" x 3/8" NPT straight barb fitting (rear of intake other vacuum items)
-One 3/8" x 3/8" NPT 90 deg. barb (goes under plenum, used for brake booster)
- 2 feet 1/4" vacuum hose
- 2 feet 3/8" vacuum hose
- (1) 5/16" compression fitting to -6 male AN
- (1) 3/8" compression fitting to -6 male AN
- (2) 3-1/2 foot -6 line with female hose ends. Goes from inlet and outlet to fuel stock fuel lines which are cut from underneath car, the two compression fittings are installed on the stock fuel line.
- (3) 1/4" vacuum plugs for EGR solenoid and throttle body
- (1) large clamp

All the vacuum ports are machined into the plenum. The current lowers don't have the late style center bolts machined, but I am getting future ones machined correctly to fit both. Can't say when for sure. Used the stock air inlet.

You lose EGR and we didn't hook the coolant to the throttle body. Need to use the small cap GM HEI. Coil mounted with stock bracket in stock location.

Didn't have to modify any wiring.

Fit pretty good I thought.

Would the stealth ram be TOO much intake for a 305 TPI? Or is it as always, as long as I match it with other components for that RPM range(heads, cam, etc.) I'll be ok? It looks like an absolute KILLER deal for the price... I'm tired of seeing super ram and mini ram raping with prices If this comes out for centerbolt style, I will love holley forever, givin the power back to the people and their cars - where it belongs

Dude... go read a post or 2. There's a stealth ram post or 2 or 10 already that have dyno numbers from a bone stock L98.

Where? I've read most of the posts here and haven't seen any dyno numbers yet. If they're on another board you need to tell us where. BTW I also did a search and didn't come up with anything.
