Installing new engine into 3rd gen, TorkMaster be OK? Few other ?'s

I have built a 350 to go into my 87T/A, here are the specs:

1) Chevy 350 010/020 block bored .040
2) Speed-Pro 10:1 Pistons
3) Comp Cams XE274H
4) Aluminum Roller Rockers 1.5
5) Aluminum L98 Heads
6) Performer RPM Intake
7) Brand New 750 Holley Vacuum

Comp Recommends about 2200 stall, will the TorkMaster work OK? In comparison to the Holeshot. I have a Holeshot 2400 but it is for my Big Block.

Also, will the Performer RPM fit under the stock hood? Thanks Everyone

Any other things I mught run into?

It will be "Ok". It will be better with a 3500 stall.
The performer rpm will fit under the hood with a drop base aircleaner. The best and loest fitting is a aircleaner from the
late 60 early 70's GM Camaro and corvette.
You can still buy this from Corvette restoration sources.

Here is a picture of the base

A 3500 stall is a bit much, isn't it? DD2000 says the combo is worth 415HP/400TQ. If I modify the current air cleaner, since it is a drop base (LG4) will it work? Thanks

I was planning on the TorkMaster 2400.

A 3500stall is not too much and a 2400 is not too little.
All depends on how hard a launch you want.
Peak torque will be right around 4000/4500rpm.
So a 3500stall will be just about right. The car will run fine with the 2400 stall but wont be as fast. If thats what you have now, use it. But if you are going to buy a converter and want to leave hard get a 3500stall, and put some gear in it,
No the stock aircleaner will not work.
The above mentioned corvette air cleaner fits very well with a 2.75" to 3" filter element.

Get an L69 air cleaner. They are very low and breath well. Its the dual snorkel air cleaner from a '83-'85(?) Firebird/Camaro with the "5.0 Litre HO" motor... and it will say that on the air cleaner.

I'm currently using the RPM AirGap manifold with a 750 Demon. I'm using a K&N drop base air filter with a 3 inch filter and it will not fit under my hood. What good does a drop base do you if the lid is only 1 inch above the carb top?? Of course i'm using the Extreme K&N lid, but i've cut a hole in the hood and installed a 1 inch cowl.

I'm not real happy with the idea of having to use the drop base air cleaner, but I haven't the $$$ to modify the hood yet.

There is plenty of clearance when you have the right aircleaner base. The K&N base is not the same as the Old GM base.
It fits (with room to spare) and works great.
And much cleaper than a new hood and paint job.

Good enough for L-88 427's from the 60's ( about 550hp with headers) good enough for your small block.
