2nd Annual TGO "Power at the Point" BBQ (North Point State Park) ?

Hey guys, I wanted to check interest in doing this again. For the newer folks, we had an awesome BBQ/gathering last year, check out the links for the details on it:

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=132471

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=128616

The pics here - https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=133561

Thus far, it's looking like a Saturday in the end of August will probably be the when. The where should be obvious , so let's hear the who.

Ohhhh - that park brings back memories. I grew up in North Point Village off of North Point Blvd. That seems like forever ago ....

man have I been busy and out of the loop.

Please get a date set ASAP, I'm back up at college now, moved into a new house with lots of work to be done to it.
And quite frankly, I've lost my 3rd Gen desire as of late
Just wish the tranny was fixed.

Anways, I'll be coming home one weekend a month and if I know ahead of time, I can hopefully plan on coming home that weekend for the gathering

alright, BBQ, sounds good. Let me know when and where. Hopefully my car should be up and running very shortly. I've been putting it off lately because its becoming frustrating.

Yeah, September sounds much better for me... especially since August is already done. Glad I checked this forum!

3 things changed for my car since last year:

1- front suspension rebuild
2- just replaced passenger side door (bright white, lets see if I can paint it soon)
3- no more fiance to clutter the passenger seat

So at least I can say I did -something- to my car this time around...

I'm game, but I'm not sure if my car will be on the road or not. My friend built a transmission for me, for which I still owe him a little cash. Two days after he was done I stripped a cam gear, and my car died. He's been rebuilding my motor, but I ran out of money for parts. I've applied for a second job to get the money quicker, but it's cutting it close for the 21st.

If I can't get it on the road, mind if I come in my mini-van?

Also, are we meeting at the McDonald's again?

Lol, I remember Nasty and I showed up like 2 mins after everyone left the Mickey D's last year.

Yeah that sucked. No one was there except for Matt and we met up and cruised from there. Then we met up with Jim (MDFormula350) somewhere on 895. It was a good day

I know Erik's been away on business alot lately so maybe that's why nothing has been set. Let's get the ball rolling and let Erik be able to enjoy it this year instead of having to do all of the work. Someone set a date.Possibly the last weekend of Sept. or the first weekend of Oct? I'll try to find a place to meet. Maybe Downs Park? We had an EFA meet and some MAFBA meets there last year and there's lots of room. Any other suggestions are welcome. Once we have a time and place we can arrange food and activities.

Sorry about the delay in posting back up the progress on this, I have been really getting slammed this summer. Anyways, I called the park again today and left a message for the ranger, so hopefully he will get back to me this weekend or early this week. I really doubt that there will be any issues, as last time everything went well. I might pop on by the park tomorrow and see if anybody's home.

Which brings me to my next topic. FOOD! As what we did last year seemed to work out great, who wants to bring what? Last time around everyone bought something, and there was more than enough food to go around.

Thanks again Tony for stepping on up to help out. If you could, put the word out (20th at North Point State Park), and also hows about figuring out this food mess? Basically, last year I put down a bunch of things and folks signed up for the different items...

Late September or early October would be best for me - I should have my car on the road again. My friend rebuilt my 305 and my 700R4 (semi-temporary), so it'll be nice to be driving again, and hopefully with that and my exhaust I'll see some better timeslips. :-)

As for food, I'll bring:

3 2-Litre bottles of Coke
1 Bag of Lays
1 Bag of Doritos

I can bring more if needed. I do need to know the date soon, so I can request off work. I'll be working two jobs soon, so it's difficult to get a whole day off.
