I think they'd export third-gens to any country where there was someone wanting to pay the fare
I saw a few in New Zealand and Australia when I was there a few years back. (You could probably have ordered one from a Holden dealer).
If you check GM RPO Codes, you'll see they have a bunch of export codes.. (Although it doesn't necessarily mean third-gens were shipped there).

I don't think that that the Camaro/firebird was ever exported under a factory authorised program.
Given that new cars are required to be right hand drive in most states in Australia (if not all) it was up to private organisations to import these cars and have them converted to RHD and to meet Australian standards.
That being said there are numerous camaros/firebirds in Australia - however you could drive arround town for a couple of weeks and not see one.
Most of these cars are weeken cruisers and not daily drivers - at least my 89 vert is anyway!.

The Z28e was the official export version of the Camaro.
It had some differences like headlamp covers.
3rd Gen Camaros were never officially imported into the UK, however many people brought in regular US models as personal imports and some people set up companies to do so (including other types of cars of course).
The 3rd gen is probably the most common non-official import american car in the UK today. (although late model Dodge RAM and Ford F150 trucks are selling well).
As an example, my IROC was built in California in October 88 and sold to Suncoast Chevrolet in Miami where it was delievered in November of that year. Carfax have no records on the car however and it was registered in the UK in February 1989. I'm going to see if I can find out who brought it over here, either a US car import dealer, private individual or maybe a military guy as there are a few american air force bases over here and that is a common way for US cars to arrive in the UK.

While I was visiting Peru in 1995.I had the privilege of riding in a 91 firebird which belonged to a family friend And if I remember correctly he ordered it from a dealership in Miami and had it brought in by cargo ship.
Felt kinda weird when there's a guy on a donkey next to you at the stop light.NO JOKE

Ummm.....call GM...
Sounds dumb, but they will know who they gave money to.
There are a lot of divisions inside GM that should be able to help you.

Considering the types of foreign cars, I can only imagine, the traditional American car being an amazing, liberating experience, even for a non American. Newer American cars seem to incorporate a bland International feel, totally unlike 70s and 60s cars. Maybe it's mass assembly across the board over the years have retained some similarity so American cars, mid-70s were something alike, even across divisions.
Either way, It's interesting to hear about how the cars are treated overseas. Very interesting. I recall the square mirrors and much prefer the original round enclosures, for the F cars anyway

Some of us in the UK will only drive american vehicles.
Doesn't matter what car it is we love 'em all!
We just had our first show of the season this last weekend:
Here are some of the third gens in attendance:
Sport Coupe:
A mint TTA (one of only 4 known to be in the UK):
An early Z28:
A mint stock IROC:
On the burnout pad:

Conversion vans aren't too much of a 'contingent' here it seems, as far as show-cars, er, trucks, except for camping I guess, however, it's hard to make that out as the UK hehe
