Can anyone tell me what this harness was for? Also there is a black plug but nothing connected to it. I have no idea what was there. This is under the passenger side dash panel.

Also, anyone know what this is. It also looks like something plugged into it. It's just above the hacked up wiring harness.

First pic is your C207 connector, if you're referring to the harness with all of the wires cut. I'd like to tell you what it does, but I'm currently trying to piece that together for myself.

The black box in the second pic reminds me of the cruise control module. I could be wrong but I have a feeling that that's what it is.
Hope this helps.

Was your car hooked up with an ecm? Because if it was then I believe that the harness that is hacked up was for the computer. On my car there is another harness similiar to it on the right side. Not sure what the other harness is.

I don't think it's a cruise control modual. The cruise was just vacuum activated with the cruise transducer. The only signal the ecm got was for VSS and TCC control. I've checked the manual and from what I understand there was no other components for it. I tried to take off the kick panel to see if the ECM was still there. I was told the car had "limited computer control" whatever that means. I wanted to see if in fact the ECM was still there. I had some difficulty getting the kick panel off, so I decided to stop before I broke it. I'm starting to think the ECM was cut out, also I don't have the ALDL connector. I pulled the panel out from the dash and there isn't even any visible wiring for where it would go. The only thing I saw under there was another fuse panel for the buzzer relay, and some other stuff I can't remember right now.

as far as I know the '82-'84 firebird didn't have a cruise modual since it wasn't really electronic. All the cruise button did was send a signal to the cruise transducer which would create a vaccum to hold the speed. The ECM would send a signal to the TCC to lock up. If the brake or clutch was applied it would disengage.

So it's a two piece speedometer cable setup then with the transducer (cable in/out) mounted on the fender?
I'm not familiar with your vintage, but with VSS, no real reason to use a transducer instead of a cruise module.
Your car was "CCC", which is the electronic (primary side) Quadrajet.

The 2nd pic looks like the headlamp/key ing/sealtbelt warning buzzer.Goes in the Dr side underdash by the center console with the horn relay. The black connector in the 1st pic looks like its for the heater/A.C selector switch? The other as said appears to be for the computer.
