Gas Tank Woes
Well my new Spectra Premium Fuel tank( 500 miles on it), is now dripping gas into a drain pan as I type. It is the ONLY replacement tank on the market and is a POS. Slightly oversized and neck is flimsy. Was a PITA to fit and due to the flimsy neck issue, is leaking at the junction of the neck and tank(cracked). Sooo, does anyone have a good OEM tank for sale? It must be clean and rust free or at least can be cleaned to spec. Since I have to drop the rearend, exhaust (you guys know), I want to put a tank back in that fits and has a fixed sturdy neck like the original. If not I'm open to suggestions. I'm also PO'ed! Was going to Woodlands meet tonight and Chick-Filet tomorrow. So instead I'll drink to abandon and tomorrow, start tearing apart my car. Again.

Can't you order the baffled 1LE tank from GM?

Look for a tank from a 1990-92 Camaro. The baffled gas tanks go by two different part numbers.

10269091
The 1st number seems to have been deleted from computer databases. But the 2nd one still exists. If that's the tank you order, it should be the 1LE baffled fuel tank (the only one that GM still makes for 3rd gens).

And it's a Spectra Preminum tank with the Goodmark black coating. A POS in sheep's clothing.
