ZZ4 with Edelbrock water pump
I'm just putting the finishing touches on my new ZZ4.
I'm finding that the ac/air pump bracket will need about a 1/4" clearance in two spots to clear the new Edelbrock water pump.
...Is this common?

I ground the water pump; there was plenty of "meat" in the problem area...fits great now.

yea i guess that i am going to have to grind down the water pump. i had the water pump on before i installed the brackets and the damn brackets wouldn't bolt up. i was so peaed off that i was about to go back to the v-belt set up than a guy from parts told me that when he put the serp set up on his that he bolted the brackets first than the water pump so i removed it and than the brackets fit perfect i than seen that the water pump was hitting the bracket. go figure

Re: ZZ4 with Edelbrock water pump
very old thread, but I just installed my new aluminum Edelbrock water pump yesterday and had to grind it down in 2 spots. Just for curiosity I did a search this am and found this thread. Thought I'd repost for anyone else out there having issues.

I had to do a lot of work on my E-water pump back when they 1st came out to make it fit the serp setups.

Re: ZZ4 with Edelbrock water pump
so Edelbrock sells a reverse rotation water pump that is only going to be used with a serpentine setup and it doesn't clear serpentine brackets, and they haven't changed the design in over a decade???
Edelbrock is usually pretty good about stuff fitting like oem- which is one reason i like their intakes over other brands.
