HELP 350 HEAD GASKET
I have a friend who has a lot of questions about his 1980 camaro he's trying to get running. 1st He has installed a used chevy 350 5.7 what he thought was a 97 vortec, well after he filed his intake to fit the 350 with an edelbrock carb it ran like crap. He checked compression and found 2 cylinders dead next to each other on the driver side. Pulled the cylinder head and gasket is blown, checked the casting numbers on the block and heads.Block 14088548 1986-88 350 5.7, HEAD 14102193 1987-95 CHEVY. Is this a good setup and what head gasket does he need, is there a problem modifying the original carb intake for this engine? HELP.

I was going to reply. Seen your post yesterday but I was not able to sit down and type out a good simple to follow tech info guide for what you need, what to check, etc at that time.
Was going to reply tonight when I had the time to give you all the info needed, but I'm not going to bother now. With your whiny attitude and everyone owes me their time and skill mindset, good luck to you in the real world.
Your post has just barely been up for 24 hours and you want to whine and complain how this place sucks cause no one has gave you free advise yet.
Remember, no one here HAS to be here or answer anyone's questions. We choice to do it because we love these cars, this hobby and helping people out.

Wow. Don't **** off those you expect to help you. Fifty eight views indicates there are members interested in your case, and as exemplified above, not everyone has the time (or all their information handy) to give an accurate and complete response when they first encounter a post such as yours. If they did respond in haste the information may not be good enough to be of use to you. On that note, do you really want just anybody to post their uninformed replies, or would you prefer to wait for someone with genuine experience who you will not lead you astray with tales of "grandpa tried this once" and "I heard someone did such-and-such"? Courtesy and patience will net you an abundance of help and encouragement here. Insults and a dick attitude will ensure you don't.

Yes, sir! I'm equidistant from Dahlonega, Gainesville and Dawsonville. I had to look up where you are, but it sounded familiar.

I saw your post, and I don't have any advice or info on this matter.
How pissed off would you have been if all 58 people that read this thread posted a response saying "I don't know the answer".
58 responses of nothing would have been even more pointless.
You are far less likely to get an answer on any other site than this as well. This being the go to site for thirdgens and anything related to them.

Re: HELP 350 HEAD GASKET
I might have answered as well once I got the chance, in spite of the question NOT being about a car covered by this forum, just because it's the same kind of thing that people who DO belong on here might also ask about.
But after post #2 I guess I can't be bothered either. I have a low tolerance for "entitled" behavior in ANY form.
